A big thanks to the pdf templates. I was able to download them, cut them together, and trace my own out using some 32 oz vinyl I had sitting around.

I used these clips:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used this tool set to remove old clips:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cheers.

I'll tell you how well made they are in a week when I get them and mount them. I love the DIY approach and was going down that path, but I already have a laundry list of things to do on my 4runner, so the $25 extra with clips seems to be worth my time, unless they're junk. But the seller has an excellent rating, so we'll see.

I added a bit more material to a lot of the corners to give them a little more strength.[IMG][/IMG]

Ebay kit feedback

So I rec'd and installed the Ebay complete splash guard kit. It was $39. The shipper had them out very quickly.

Fit is perfect and the material thickness is slightly thicker than OEM, so feel like they'll last a long time.

Old thread, I know, but I'll be doing this and adding my body lift height to the trace-out dimensions. I saw the thread on TW for the full-coverage one and will be giving that a shot!

Save the time, great manufacturer in Colorado...Yota Liners

Yota Liners over at www.yotaliners.com is the answer to this. Homemade seals never last, just like the ones from the dealer. I have bought from them for my 4Runner and previously my Tundra and wife's Tacoma. They are a family parts business here in Colorado where I live, make them out of a patented neoprene-like space-age material resistant to everything, and include instructions and the clips which are really expensive and hard to track down the right ones even from the dealer. Their customer service is great. Ordered the wrong set for the Tacoma once, and they quickly swapped them out. Would highly recommend if you want to save yourself the time and re-work in probably less than a year. Just my 2 cents.

Though I would try the extra coverage version floating around over on TW.
How are these holding up? I was looking for something thicker than 1/16 but maybe its not necessary. Also, did the tacomaworld template fit exactly, or did you modify it? Thanks

So when I bought my used 05’ 4runner the previous owner had torn these out probably when he did the lift and cuts for the 33” tires that are on there.. so I’m curious how important is it to get these back on? I’m up in the NY salt belt and I’ve got a fluid film coating done already.

Dealership tore mine off sometime in the past, probably when I was there for the 90K timing belt replacement. This past summer I bought new ones and installed them. I think they reduce noise as well as protect the engine from getting splashed with water and causing it to stall. It was an easy replacement, maybe 5 minutes per tire after the tire was removed. I got mine off Amazon.

I realized I forgot to update this thread when I lost one of my DIY splash guards. Instead of cutting a new one, I decided to get the set made by Rad Rubber Designs. It's pricey for the product but the quality is top notch and they include a set of fasteners.
