No heat in floor when switch pressed??

Having an issue with the heat in my 05 V8. Pressing the heat switch for the floor does nothing. The light comes on but it doesn’t switch over. Couldn’t find much from searching. Any ideas? Is this blend door hard to get to?

Thanks

Can you switch the air flow to any other setting? Does the defogging work?

No. I just checked and it’s not blowing out the defrost either. Only the front vents for whichever button I press.

May be the servo motors. DIY: Replace Servo Sub-Assy

Wow thanks for that. Helpful if that’s the issue. I just investigated the issue more and determined that the heat does blow in the floor when you switch it to floor mode but it doesn’t shut the face vents. They remain open. The defrost vents never open though... I’m puzzled on how to even diagnose what the issue is...

Can you hear anything when you switch the flows? If it only blows in one direction despite selecting different modes it could be as simple as the HVAC actuator.

It sounds like your blend door servo/actuator is stuck/or died in between floor and vent postions leaving the blend door paritally open in each position.

Do you know which specific servo controls that function?

If you click on the link @46runner post above he has not only posted the location of the blend door servo/actuator/motor and also the temperature servo/actuator/motor, he also gives you part numbers and a step by step tutorial with photos on replacing them.

I ****ing hate working on those. It's such a tight space and if it's not the very bottom one good ****ing luck unless you have baby sized hands.
