2008 4Runner Parking Brake Warning Light & ABS Light Flicker Simultaneously
Anyone know what causes this or have a solution? Both lights flicker simultaneously and intermittently. Occurs when the brake is applied OR if the tires brake loose . I understand the brake fluid level sensor is connected to the skid control in the ECU, so that may explain it.
I checked my reservoir and it full.

could be a dirty switch above the pedal.

Above which pedal? The parking brake pedal or ABS pedal?

If you haven't ordered a new switch yet, first try and get some electronic spray cleaner to pentetrate into the switch while repeatedly manualy pressing and releasing the switch which may clean whatever is causing it to make contact and lighting the brake light, removing the switch will help get more cleaner into it.

Yes, you should be able to find some at most autoparts stores or any computer supplies stores, there are many brands but CRC is a good one, here's a link to some at Walmart, but I don't know for sure if they stock it at the stores or just sell it online, I know this brand is sold at most all autoparts stores.

I'm Not convinced it's the parking brake switch. When I hit the main ABS brake pedal it will also flicker Intermittently. This is me pressing the ABS brake repeatedly.

Also check to make sure brake pedal is fully retracted, therefore pressing against switch.

There is a switch on the ABS pedal too isn't there? Somehow both of these switches can trigger that particular light.

Here is a pic of the ABS switch and where it makes contact with pedal.

I don't think it would be the main brake pedal switch that is causing this, it's main purpose is to turn on the brake lights when applying the brakes, the only time pressing the main brake pedal should cause the brake warning light to come on is when there's an issue with the braking system.

I hear u AuSeeker but how do you explain the ABS pedal triggering that light? Nearly every other time I press the pedal it will flicker.
