Random loose line on right side of engine bay V8

I found a loose line on the right side of the engine bay on my 2005 V8. Nothing else looks out of place and I can't see anywhere this line should go. Does anyone have a guess as to what this is?

Any idea how to attach a picture to this thread that's over the 136kb limit?

Without seeing a picture, I would say it’s the line that feeds your muffler bearing fluid

That's on the driver side!

It's the blinker fluid breather.

In all seriousness start an Imgur account and upload your pics there.

another option, if you have a PC, is to reduce the picture by using the built in Microsoft Photo editing software. You can reduce it for "web" or "document" or "email" setting. I usually use the document setting before uploading it to a forum board.

Thanks for the Imgur idea. Here's a couple picture links. This is on the drivers side between the battery and front of the engine block.

Ahh ok. The cap is definitely not loose. I assume it should work something like a one way valve to let heat escape?

You're actually trying to relieve pressure. When the gear oil heats up, it expands and needs to vent somewhere. The valves are normally a one way device and sometimes get stuck closed. If they don't have the ability to vent, they can push fluid past seals.

As an example: https://s3-media2.fl.yelpcdn.com/bph...KSZifXQ/ls.jpg
