Headlight Bulbs - what are you running?

Against my better judgement i bought some LED low beams for my 2007. They look nice, but i don't think they improve visibility. Got then from Cougar LEDs on Amazon.

Curious what everyone else is running and what their thoughts are of their headlights.

Vleds and MORIMOTO MINI D2S

I did a refit about 2 years go and installed some VLEDs. I had them pre-refit and they work alright, but I wanted to improve it. I've got them in my MORIMOTO MINI D2S (3.0 I think). They work alright for me with a nice cut off. Though my driver side projector could use some horizontal aliment, not as flat as it should be.
The thing with VLEDs is they are not low cost and they seem to have a new design every year. Might be because they are making improvements (sure seems like it). But the cost makes it less likely to want to upgrade when the current ones still work.

There are many threads on this and just as many opinions. The solution that worked best for me is the H9/9011 upgrade.

I have a 5th gen so not sure if my input would be much help. I run Hikari 9600lm LEDs in my low beams and fogs. Both H11s. The low beams alone were not that bright, but with the added LED fogs, I'm happy with it.

For my low beams, I tried at least 4 sets from Amazon, but anything over 40mm width does not fit in the housing. Plus, the bulb needs to be clockable/rotatable as the diodes need to point 9 and 3 for maximum brightness because the bulb goes in sideways. Not sure why this low beam housing was designed this way.

Anything will fit in the fogs, but shorter cables will be nicer because the passenger lining has vents and the connections could get wet if it's dangling.

This was a good site to get info from: BulbFacts | Compare headlight bulbs all in one place!

I've been using PIAA Extreme Whites for probably a decade now. Won't use any other halogen.

I went with the xtreme hid upgrade, the H9 kit from XenonDepot. So far it’s been awesome.

I've been looking at these too ... currently use Sylvania Silverstar Ultra, but would like something that's a little whiter. Do you use the Extreme White Hybrid or the Extreme White Plus?

The Pluses. They're pricey, but I like the light output and evenness of the lighting. I've used them on my 1991, 1999, and 2003 4Runners, as well as the 2013 Tacoma I owned.

I ran into the same issue. Wanted something brighter than stock. Bought 5 different LED's H11's off Amazon and ebay. the problem with most was either the light was scattered making on coming traffic flash me all the time or the beam wasn't any better than stock. Another issue was that most LED's appear blue in color which annoyed me.

I went with XenonDepot xtreme 4300k HID's and couldn't be happier.

Are you happy with the improvement and overall brightness? I’ve been considering trying a set of those and was hoping someone has tried them on here to give an honest review.
