Do you have pics of your headlights in the daylight? Curious to see how the black DT Moto headlights look compared to stock.

I got these to replace decent “55W” HIDs and they are significantly brighter and much easier to install. Thanks!

Okay, I replaced my Xenon Depot HID's with these bulbs. I've had them in for a couple of weeks but only drove at night last night. What a difference. They are great. Brighter, love the color. A great improvement, for sure. No one will be disappointed. Don't know about the bulb life, but at the price, you can't go wrong. YMMV...

@Formidable thanks for making the thread!

Just installed the H11 low beam F-S2 bulbs in my '06 4Runner... love it! I've done full on HID retrofits in my previous vehicles... these are superior to most HID systems and SO much easier!

So I've been holding off on these for a while. I originally started with a DDM slim ballast kit with 6.5K bulbs. I couldn't see shit. I thought it was too blue so switched to 5k bulbs, it was better but still didn't illuminate distance as much as I wanted.

I then went with another brand of LED bulbs. I figure they are all manufactured in China and just rebranded anyway so might as well get a cheaper pair ($20). Those had awesome cutoff and width, but wasn't as bright as I wanted. I returned those and finally got the FS2..

My opinion of them so far is way better than the DDM and other LED brand. Still not as bright as I want but better (I'm used to S2k output)... Overall I'm content. We'll see how long they last!

Has anyone here done led replacement for turn signals and DRLs? Would like to know your setup.

Noticed today one of my low beams is out (2008). I read through this thread (thank you @Formidable ) and also a few other headlight threads using the search function. This other thread, from 2009, references modding a H9 into the low beam socket. I was surprised not to see any reference to that option here given the extensive discussion. Other than the modding aspect, any pros/cons in terms of using the H11 v. H9 for the low beams?

Bought the Auxbeams and blacked out headlights. Anyone having trouble turning them in? The collar started to give and it's a little loose, the small screw didn't seem to hold on very well. Will keep an eye on them, but a quick drive around the neighborhood at night was great and bright. I'll have to re-aim them, but I did notice some small light shake when driving over potholes.

Quick photo after install. Will take more photos after re-aimed.

Interesting. I bought a set of the Auxbeams for the low beams on my 2008, had no problems at all and really liked them so I bought two more sets for my high beams and my Mustang. The one of the two bulbs for the Mustang fits more loosely than I’d like (sounds similar to your experience) but the other is nice and tight. I installed the high beams in the 4Runner and neither one worked initially, so I flipped the connectors and both worked, but I had to tape the harnesses together since the latches are now 180 deg apart. That’s sort of lame, but overall I like the Auxbeam product.

Yep, I just put in a set this week and I definitely cracked the plastic on the ring with the mounting tabs. I got it back to usable shape and I ran them last night and everything looked great.

I ended up cutting a little ramp on each of the tabs to try to help give them a head start into the grooves. It seemed like the o-ring for the housing seal might be a little oversized so I really had to press in to get the tabs to bite.

You can swap the position of the wires on the bulb plug ends - Just use a small pick or blade to release the small pastic tab that is holding the terminal end in place and the wires will slide right out. Once that is done the locking tabs will line up with the factory harness.

H9 is brighter but was designed as a high beam bulb and as such as a service life about half as long as an H11. I ran H9's for a bit before I installed HID's and they were much brighter than the H11's. At H9 bulb prices - this is the cheapest useful mod you can do to your stock headlights to increase low beam output.

That said - I recently installed a decent set of true bi-xenon projectors and Osram D2S bulbs and they are amazing. Much brighter, way better light pattern than running Amp HID bulbs in the factory projector. They are also much brighter than the DDM Saber Pro LED's in my high beams. Once you've pulled the factory projector and had the opportunity to see it side by side with a nice quality bi-xenon projector the difference is night and day. I am very happy I took the plunge and modded my lights. I will keep LED's in my fogs and high beams, but I am very happy with the HID/projector install.
