OK, so I may be a dullard, but I am not lazy. I have read through pages and pages of posts regarding plug and play LEDs for my T4R 2008 SR5. My OE lamps are just inadequate for my old eyes. Could someone summarize the types/sizes of LEDs for my vehicle. My priorities are: low beam, high beam, back-ups. Also interested in fogs and turn lights, but secondarily. If someone could do me the kindness of a brief summary I would be most appreciative.

I swapped all of the lighting in my 4r to 5000k led using vleds.com. Night and day difference and 3 year warranty with solid customer service. They are a little pricier than the cheaper amazon vendors but stand behind their product. Also enjoy all of the bulbs having matching colors

LED turn signal bulbs?

Hello all,
I have a 2006 4Runner, and I have tried a few different types of LED bulbs for the front turn signals. Unfortunately, none of them have panned out. Even the ones that are advertised as "anti hyper flash, built in resistor, blah, blah, blah." I tried the relay install, and I tried other types, but I have not had any luck as they all hyper flashed. Any suggestions?
I thought I could install the switchback DRLs, but there are two separate bulbs; one for the turn signal, and one that I assume is the daytime light, and it is size 168, too small for the switchbacks I bought.

now first things first, is your truck equipped with the drl?
if your truck did not have drl, the flasher relay is behind the inside fuse box, also its 8 pin.
if your truck has drl, you will need to take the flasher relay apart and shave the metal link, there was a tutorial, only take a little bit off at a time.

I will admit, I am confused....
I read and re-read what RICEANDPHO replied with, and I read the information in the following link.
As mentioned, on my 2006 4Runner, on the front, there is a small bulb (size 168) that is continuously on while the vehicle is running. And, above, just to the right of the small bulb is the turn signal bulb (1156).
Are you saying that I can "shave" part of a fuse and then the turn signal would become the DRL and should only flash if the turn signal were on? And, the small (168) bulb would be disabled?

On my car, the 1156 is always running if the truck is started. The little parking light is a just a parking light.

that is for damn sure. i had LED after 1 of my hid burnt out and you can tell the difference. led is more clear but less visible light. does that make sense?

I just upgraded to the Auxbeam led hi and lows based on OP's suggestion. They were $25.32 for a pair of lows and $25.32 for the highs. Installed on Sunday so limited use. I like the upgrade.........but not as much as I thought I would. The light from the leds doesn't seem as crisp to my eye. Maybe I just need to get used to them. The high-beams are certainly brighter. I also purchased the the led for the drl/turn signals. I have not installed yet.
Thanks to formidable for the info.

So, I am replacing my forward bulbs with Xtreme LED Pro units. The H11 low beam units installed fairly easily. However the high beam 9005s will not twist into place. It seems that the three tabs are too thick to twist into the slots. I have pressed forward as hard as I can. What am I missing? Do the tabs need to be modified? Any suggestions appreciated!

I've run into this before - quick fix: check the thickness of the rubber gasket on the new bulbs compared the old ones. If the old ones are noticeably thinner I'd swap them and see if that helps.

I think I had the same issue and what fixed it was using a deep well socket around the bulb to help push harder and twist. If you can find the right socket size, 6 pt might help too.

Just my .02 on using LED bulbs...

So, decided to 'splurge' a little on some lighting upgrades to both my '05 4runner and my wife's '16 CRV, which uses the H11 bulb.

Went through all the reviews and watched as many YouTube videos as possible on the subject.

For the 4runner, I decided to try out the Boslla bulbs (Boslla Bullet B4 9006/HB4 - The World's first 4 Color LED Headlight - Boslla).

This bulb has 4 modes...on 1st mode (white light), the light is very white, but the beam pattern seems too high...almost like the high beam. But in mode 2 (white+yellow light)...WOW. Really nice. Mode 3 is quite good as well, but haven't had a chance to try it in bad weather. Mode 4 is just nice to play with.

Now, on my wife's '16 CRV with the H11 bulb (and projectors)...decided to skip all the stuff on ebay and amazon and got the GTR Ultra 2...expensive, but I believe well worth it. Holy cow, the beam is white, bright and almost the same pattern as with the stock halogen bulbs. And the build quality of the bulb is outstanding. (LED Headlights - Ultra Series 2 - GTR Lighting)

On both the Boslla and GTRs, you have to make sure the orientation of the LEDs is correct in order to get the proper beam pattern and best light output. both had adjustable orientations of the LED arrays...another plus.
