The 9005 high beams definitely plug in with zero issues. I’m thinking these may fit better in the fog housings as well instead of the 9006. Will need to try it out some time.

Thanks. I appreciate all the info in this thread, especially that there's an LED DRL option.

I agree, am pretty excited about the DRL/turn bulbs because I’ve read MANY threads on those and the many complicated methods people have used to get them working, but most end up changing and modifying relays, which deletes the DRL, which would be no bueno for me.

@Formidable question about the DT moto blacked out headlights. how are the projectors on them? i few years back i ordered some blacked out headlights and the projectors were garbage. they're fading pretty badly now and im looking to replace them. looks like you're pretty happy with them?

Take a look at the pics I posted above of the projectors. The passenger side fits perfect. The driver side is slightly off center, (corrected as far lateral as it would go), and the projector is at a very slight tilt which may or may not bother you. Otherwise, beam cut off is clean. Considering the cheap price these are extremely minor issues.

Awesome. yea those both are minor issues to me, the light output was dismal and judging by your pics theyre much better than mine. im also running LED headlights so your pics helped me alot. thanks!

@Formidable , how long have you had the LEDs in as your DRLs? The linked bulbs have the usual warning that they run too hot for DRL applications. Any issues?

Not long. I’ve had them on about a week. Makes sense as they dim down when DRL’s come on as compared with blinkers. Will post when they burn out. My DRL’s are constantly on.

Well, I pulled the trigger on the headlights anyway and those should be here tomorrow. Decided to wait a bit on the amber turns though to see how they hold up running full time for DRL. I went back and saw where they warn about them overheating when used for DRL, so it will be interesting to see how it affects the life of them. Meanwhile, I can’t wait to try the new low beams! My wife’s Camry XSE came factory with LEDs and her lights are awesome! Funny thing is, we get flashed by oncoming cars frequently because they are so bright. They have a very sharp cutoff too, so I guess other cars just assume they are high beams because of the brightness. They are certainly aimed low enough. Anyway, if these are even close to her setup, I’ll be a happy camper! I picked up the LED backup lights that were discussed in another thread and they are 100 times better than the stock bulbs, so now I have more light backing up than going forward, lol.

I'm going the same route except I ordered the high beams only. I already upgraded my lows and highs to brighter bulbs and the lows are fine for where I live (rural area), it's when I need the high beams that I want LED brightness available.

I have some on my rig... prrreeettty damn bright. Lol feel bad for the people driving in front of me because my regular OE lights were good enough. But then again they look good so I try not to think about it. Lol

I had bought sets for lows, highs, and fogs and got them delivered and installed same day, but right after that had family come in town and we drove my wife's car around instead. Last night was my first chance to drive in the dark with the new lights and I'm thoroughly impressed--much more light than before. Looking forward to getting out on some backroads and using the fogs and highs as well

How do you like the DRL’s? They work flawlessly for me. Zero issues. They dim down automatically with the DRL function. Apparently the chip senses it and changes the frequency so it appears dimmer than the blinker. No change in resistance occurs. With that said, I doubt these run any hotter than the halogen DRL’s. Given the expected life of the LED’s I also highly doubt these will burn out any time soon.

Thanks, that’s encouraging. My concern is less about the bulb burning out prematurely and more about melting the housing. That’s my interpretation of the “too hot for DRL use” warnings but maybe I misunderstood.
