At that temp, you need to go LED or HID...there are probably halogens out there that can 'simulate' the color, but the light output would leave a lot to be desired.

On a side note, I went with these on my '05...

Boslla Bullet B4 9006/HB4 - The World's first 4 Color LED Headlight - Boslla

The white mode is 'ok', but the mix and yellow (especially in rain) mode...damn, I can see!. The white mode (mode 1) is too much like a high beam. Would like to go with another set of these for the fogs, but worried about exposure.

Changed some bulbs out to LEDs today.

Reverse bulbs, license plate bulbs, front parking bulbs.

Left: 6000k
Right: 4000k

I prefer the 4000k - I think I'll replace all my interior T10 bulbs with these.

LED left, stock halogen right. They're a tad too warm (compared to the license plate bulbs), but oh well.

Decent amount more light thrown.

Both of these were out for me, so might as well.

These will hopefully go in tomorrow. I'll make a new thread once I'm done.

Dat beam pattern doe...

Well my Auxbeams lasted a little less than a year before the passenger side started to flicker. So while I figure out which way I will go next, I am back to the stock H11's. Talk about back to the dark ages.
Looking for light with better distance than I had with the Auxbeam LEDs, might go HID.

I've had these installed for probably a year now. And while I like them for city driving, they barely throw any light past 150ft or so. Highway driving at night feels borderline unsafe at 70mph. I'm wondering if it is due to the 6500k color?

I find it hard to believe that these beat out Morimoto HIDs... but what temp were your HIDs that these beat out??

Again though, the Auxbeams are great upgrades for the cost... assuming you only drive in the city.

Light output is FAR better than 35w 6k morimotos. Others in this thread have also verified this. The pics on the front page demonstrating beam and cut off are accurate. Make sure you are using them in 06+ headlights with the projectors and that the headlights are properly aimed. No way I would spend the money for HID’s. Even my 3rd gen is rocking custom LED retrofit headlights now, (no projectors in the 3rd gen headlights which need to be retrofitted to run these or comparable LED bulbs).

I've read through most of this thread and I really want to upgrade my headlights. I'm debating replacing the projector housing on my 06. The driver's side has condensation and both sides are yellowing. I like the oem look I don't know if I want blacked out housings yet. With that said has anyone gotten the projector housings from rockauto? Wondering how reliable they are. Also any updates on the DTR leds? Seems hit or miss, thanks!

I have an '08 with projectors (and yes, properly aimed). Though it is aftermarket housing.

So I caved and bought Morimoto HIDs (35w, 5.5k). The light THROW is almost double that of the Auxbeam LEDs. At the end of my block is a house that the LEDs would barely touch. With HIDs, there is a clean, crisp beam pattern ON their house now. Even for the cost difference, I would buy HIDs again because I can finally see at night again.

Now it appears BXbuilt has LED specific projectors. So that probably makes a difference. And its possible that my aftermarket headlights (with projectors) aren't suited for LED, but again, in my situation, the HIDs win hands down and its not even close.

Glad you’re happy with the HID’s. Not a route I will ever take again.

I must admit I was skeptical that LED lights could provide enough light output. I was wrong.

Ended up going with Beamtech H11 bulbs with a fanless heatsink design. For $30 on Amazon it was money well spent.

It’s a clear, but not earth shattering, upgrade over the stock halogens. Wish I had installed them sooner

I’ve had them for a year now, and now I get all the error codes on the dash. Still working fine...
Do I try adding the resistor kits to make my truck happy, or time to ditch ‘em?
