Thanks! Good tips! I have the air tubes... so I may ask a fabricator to jig the Thorleys and build me a set out of full tig welded 304 stainless. Will sell this set of long tubes and install the custom set. Sounds like you got the install planned out and ready to go!

I'm going to tackle my DT LTs starting tomorrow, if you are interested, we can exchange notes. I've done this once before, on a 2003 Tundra. I replaced the manifold with and oem style unit. Yes, it's a pain.
I have already started penetrant applications to studs, etc... If I may recommend , removing the upper control arms, and intermediate steering shaft, and anything else really. YouTube
The heat shields make it a PITA. I will be taking a "cut away" approach. Cut the cats above the O2. Remove cats, this helps free up space to get up in there and allows you to remove O2s off truck. From there, remove/cut heat shields and clean studs, than assess from there. Mean while, continues penetrate applications I may let soak overnight again, there is a lot of rust.
Good luck with yours!

Thanks for sharing
I have a similar '08 Limited which I bought NEW for the wife (while I played in my modified Cherokee.) Now it's ALL MINE (Cherokee RIP...)!! I recently saw a very similar blue modified gen 4 in a parking lot and LOVED it. Yours is the second and really appreciate the detailed posts allowing me to hopefully achieve a similar final build. Although mine is Salsa red, I'm hoping to have a sweeter ride soon.

Ok, so I got the scoop plate in the mail. Now i'm having problems removing the scoop itself from the hood! I un-screwed the 5 nuts underneath the hood and nothing is budging. Any ideas before I brake apart the whole hood? I thought it was a gonna be a simple swap.
Edit: Guess i'll be getting a new hood scoop insert as I have essentially cracked it trying to get the old back plastic plate out.

Aww man... I wish I saw this earlier. There is an additional hidden screw if you look from underneath that holds a retaining clip in place. Need to unbolt all the 10 mm nuts AND unscrew the retaining clip, (one small hole, middle of scoop, easy to miss).

Outerwears hydrophobic prefilter is on. This thing is an exact fit. Very snug.

Water beads off these prefilters. Makes cleaning a breeze. Also zero reduction in flow. Dyno’d the GTR with these on and it put down 1124 AWHP on a conservative tune. Since then bigger turbos and billet crank were thrown on. Expecting 1400 AWHP conservative, 1700 AWHP on kill.
