I was going to come up with a crazy story about hitting a fence and getting wicked air . . .
But, you have to loosen the radiator mounting bolts and lift the radiator up a couple of inches to install the recovery points. It's to make room for the bolts which, as you can see, are installed from the inside out. Once they're installed, you remove the 2x4 and bolt the radiator back into place. It's actually very simple and TOR provides very clear instructions.
