Callihan brakes - anyone have any experiences?
Hi,
So, thinking of doing the 5th gen caliper upgrade on my '07, since I've got a lovely seized caliper already anyway. I've been reading through all the threads I can find, and it seems most folks are going RockAuto with the Centric components.
However, I ran across this Callahan package, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DJYCG4P/
It's a bit cheaper, and would also save me having to deal with a core charge & shipping the old calipers back, which is especially welcome as I'm taking these across the border.
Found one person in the 3rd gen forums who seemed reasonably happy:
Powerstop vs. Ebay Callahan Tundra calipers - Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum
Thoughts?
Thanks.

I have their front calipers on my 4runner. They look real good, appear to have been new and the price was right.

Thanks - good to know someone else has been happy with them. That’s what I was wondering.

How long have you had the calipers on your T4R?

Well, I'm going to give it a shot. I'll try to remember to update here in a while and let people know how it turned out.

The point is, how do you know the fairy isn't a crazy glue sniffer? "Building model airplanes" says the little fairy, well, we're not buying it. He sneaks into your house once, that's all it takes. The next thing you know, there's money missing off the dresser and your daughter's knocked up, I seen it a hundred times.

After some research when i bought them, they appear to be owned by powerstop brakes.

So, first update. I finally had a chance to install these yesterday. Fit & finish on the calipers looked good - I was very happy with it. Everything was included in the kit, and it all bolted up with no issues.
I haven't exactly put a ton of time on them yet, but the braking action so far has been smooth & quiet. The real test will come later this spring when we head out on our first camping trip, towing our trailer.
