HID in 05 Headlight Housing

I read a lot of threads on here about upgrading to HIDs and seems everyone likes them But I could not find a lot of information on putting HIDs into 05 headlights. Is it worth it? Will I be blinding people? Will the output be that much better since they’re not going into projector headlights?

output of lights will be brighter, but you will still blind other drivers on the road, even a readjustment is needed, if you are lifted, you still blind people.

you can put it in, but doing it right with retrofitting is better, and you get more performance out of the lights. once you have a true hid retrofit projectors, youll never go back to factory lights anymore.

Morimoto D2S 5.0

I'm currently installing and retrofitting Morimoto D2S 5.0 HID projectors in my 05 4Runner. I've read a lot of posts and online videos on how to do it. Pics and info once complete. I have to put the lenses back on and bake in the oven. Be back later with pics.

HID in 05 Headlight Housing-53188023_2306321013026473_2433630071659954176_n-jpg

Just take the time to retrofit projectors and be done.
I put in a Morimoto kit. Its fantastic, greatest upgrade I've done to the truck. Makes long night drives so easy...

try theretrofitsource.com. They have basically everything you will need.

Putting in HID bulb right into the stock housing will cause A TON of glare for oncoming cars.

Just bite the bullet and do it mostly right...pricing will be near the same either way...throw in some 2006+ headlights and bottom light trim and you're set...there will be some that argue you're not doing it right but to be honest...there's not that much of a difference between truly-modified HIDs in the 2006 housing versus just throwing in the HIDs and leaving the 2006 housings as they are...That's how I have mine and the're amazingly better and I've never been flashed for them being "not true HID projectors" in the last 3 years...best lighting upgrade by far!
