I have this issue too but am not ready to sink that much into the latch. For now I have a momentary double throw switch attached to a couple relays to power the latch open or closed as needed. It does the job for now.

An earlier post has me curious though, is the not latching a normal thing if the rear window is not closed all the way? My window setup was messed up for a while but I got that resolved with used parts so now wonder if it created my latching issue. I'm doubting it though because everything I've read mentions the latch setup needing to be replaced.
