New Head Unit Upgrade suggestions.

My aftermarket pioneer head unit has been acting up a bit and I'm looking for a newer one that will play music via bluetooth with my iPhone. Looking for some recommendations on the biggest one that will fit without adding a bunch of spacers on the sides. Also I'm not much of an audio guy in terms of install but I am sure I can do it. How hard is it to replace?

I suggest talking to the folks at Crutchfield. I upgraded my factory radio about two years ago and used them. It was pretty much plug and play if you buy their wiring harness. Not difficult to install or any wire splicing needed.

I have the Pioneer DMH-2660NEX in mine and I love it. I used the Maestro RR adaptor and retained the SWC and the JBL components.
The Maestro also allowed me to have a screen for the TPMS sensor so I can tell what pressure is in what tire, as well as OBDII data.

It also does CarPlay, Android, Bluetooth, Etc.

Overall very happy with the system.

p.s. The install was super easy, wiring was minimal, mostly just building the harness which was only maybe 6-ish wires. Everything else was plug and play.

I went with the Alpine ILX w650 and Im not a fan.

If I was doing it over again id consider Sony or Panasonic.

Last October, I went with this JVC, kinda expensive, but shop installed it for me plus a back up camera for a total of $1K, and I had to haggle with them to get that price. It's wireless and works on Apple's Car Play and Android Auto. It's an impressive unit.

Amazon.com: JVC KW-V960BW Built in Wi-Fi for Wireless CarPlay Android Auto, CD/DVD 6.8" LCD Touchscreen Display, AM/FM, Bluetooth, MP3 Player, USB Port, Double DIN, 13-Band EQ, SiriusXM, Class D Amp, Car Radio: Car Electronics

do you have a picture of how it fits in the dash? The dimensions seem a bit large for the space

I just upgrading to the JVC KW-M560BT. Did the install myself which was not too difficult. Bought the Radio from Crutchfield, who was super helpful. I bought an open box item so it was about $30 cheaper than brand new, and has the same warranty and works like new. Gave me Apple Carplay, which is what I wanted. I had to stick the USB port out of the little bottom compartment, but I like that I get to tuck it in that pocket when I'm not using it.

I just got an 07 Limited with the JBL system and the sound quality is decent but I really want nav and backup camera without having to use my phone. I know my choices of HU's is limited if I want to keep the JBL and when I checked Crutchfields a couple weeks ago they were out of stock on probably 80% of their double dins and of course everyone that would work with the JBL. Any recommendations would be great. I tried searching but didn't come up with much, probably did it wrong, lol!!! Thanks
NCH
