LFD Off-road skid plate warning

Hi everybody,
LFD Off-road makes great solid products, Don't get me wrong.
I purchased a Front skid plate for the 4runner. Well in the instructions, it said for v8 needs longer bolts, So i went to my local hardware store and bought long bolts, it didn't work. I e-mailed LFD and asked them a few questions. They sent me a picture showing Long threaded rods to hold the front (those are the long bolts they were talking about). I also asked them why doesn't the oil drain line up, They said it is for the V6. unfortunatly I already painted the skid plate, and also I purchased the item during black friday.

Summary LFD skid plate:
Are made for V6 not v8
For v8 you will need threaded rods
oil Drain will not line up for v8

My oil drain lined up on my V8...however the oil filter access panel isn't even close to being lined up.

I looked at the skid on their website and it says this in the description. Maybe they edited it after your issues came up?

"The skid may need longer bolts in the front to fit V8 models and will not line up with the oil filter or drain on V8s."

I think it's strange that the 4th Gen skid page has pics of a 5th Gen. Confusing, thought I had clicked the wrong link.
