Running 255 80r17s? Come on in

What's your suspension setup?

There's a lot of scattered information on people with this tire size. Would like to make a consolidated thread.

I'm wondering if I can pull this off with a 2.5" lift over OEM height (hub to Fender 21 front, 19 rear).

Subscribed.

I’m only looking for 255/75r-17 though.

I’ve got the 2.5”/1.5” Daystar on factory Xreas.

I have OME 885 in the front and superflex in the rear and I am running that size tire on stock 2012 rims. I just had to push the liner forward to eliminate rubbing. I still haven't flexed the suspension though.

Any idea how much lift you're running? If not, a center hub to fender measurement would be terrific.

I'm in the 255/75R17 camp...

Daystar 2" spacer lift on new Monroe RoadMatics in the front and Delco springs and 5100's in the rear.

I have more than 1/2" extra space at full lock so I suspect I wouldn't have issue on a 255/80 either.

Measurements are 22" in front and 24" in rear from hub to fender. I keep waiting for things to settle...

I'll add my $0.02 here!

I'm on 255/75/R17 Duratracs on TRD Pro 17" wheels (different offset from stock 18" wheels). I initially had these on a completely stock 2008 Limited and all I had to do was move the front wheel liners forward a few inches and remove the front mud flaps to eliminate all rubbing. I even did some moderate off-roading with this setup and had no issues.

I'm now on Bilstein 6112/5160's with a small lift in the front (approx. 1.5") and of course have no rubbing with this setup either.

Cheers!

That's right. I also had to remove my front mud flaps also.

I'm gonna be about a half inch lower than you at 21.5/22.

Howuch clearance you do you have? Also, are you running aftermarket UCAs?

Posting. I’ve got Eibach shocks & springs and will be going the 255/80/17 route for my next tire. Hoping some good info and photos come out of this thread.

Check out @cbelisle 's build thread here. Appears to have been able to pull off 255 80r17 with just a 2.5 lift.

Stock UCA's so I am only getting 1 degree of caster. Steering is kinda twitchy, so I eventually will get get some UCA's. Just haven't decided on which ones. I want the JBA's but not sure if they will rub. Clearance from where? I have a couple inches from the body mount and maybe an inch from the front fender.

Another pic
