Need Help "Pricing on SR5 " New Buyer!!!

Hi,

New Buyer, looking for advice on Toyota 4Runners....

Looking to buy a 07 SR5 4X4 V6 basic package (I'm just not into all the bells and whistles)

Local dealer (midwest) has a 07 SR5 V6 4X4 standard options w/ moonroof

MSRP $32,734 W/REBATES $27,488

GOOD DEAL OR BETTER DEALS CAN BE FOUND!!!

Does any one use "EDMUNDS" OR "CARS DIRECT" pricing when shopping for a new car...

Dealer also has a "DEMO" 4RUNNER SR5 (same as above)

What would the value be, or what would be a good price to offer dealer...

Remember guys, I'm new to the brand, so I really don't have any experience w/ Toyota.... :awais:

Based on my information for what I paid for mine vs. MSRP, YES you are getting a good deal. I paid .8686 of MSRP for mine and for that I had to pull teeth around here. .8686 * your MSRP of $32,734 = $28,763. Your getting it $300 under that, so yes that is a hell of a deal in my book. I contacted over 9 dealerships getting the best prices from all of them and researched information all over the web. I think you found a great deal!

If you plan on driving the wheels off of your new 4Runner then I'd get the new one, cause they aren't going to make you a good enough deal on the demo.... I would think... to make it worth your while.

07 SR5 V6 4X4

How much do Demo cars lose their value

NEW Price W/ Rebates $27,488

Demo (same model) with 2000 miles what would be the price difference?????

They usually stay pretty proud of their DEMO's IMO. Not worth it especially when you get a demo that has probably not been broken in properly. I know when I test drive one I get on it and try it out.

Sounds about right. Mine (same as mentioned but w/o moonroof) about $26,000 because my dealer had a sale one day.

As much as possible stay away from the demo UNLESS the price is significantly lower or they give you some freebies with the vehicle. Dealers are really stingy and you think those demos are a good deal, think again. Here's one story....

This was about Dec 02 when the GX470 first came out. A guy and his wife buys one. About a month later, wife gets paralyzed (for whatever reason?!?!) and since they knew the owner of Fresno Lexus, they got the dealer to do a buyback. Vehicle had about 700 miles, quite dirty in my opinion, and the dealer used it as a "demo" since all the new GX470 units coming in were sold so this was their demo chance. Price break? Only $700!

But then again the vehicle was a hot buy at that moment so they have all the reason to sell it that high again. See if you could haggle an extra $2-4k off, then I'd say you've got yourself a better deal.

Dealers list around $28,800 including freight around here (without dealing). So 27500 (non-demo) is good.

I would not buy a demo. It probably had the snot beat out of it.

Possibly, but there's a chance that the vehicle will be quick and peppy because the people who used it probably didn't follow the break-in period. I believe that's one of the reasons why my 4Runner is alive and quick because it was a dealer swap and the vehicle was driven about 180 miles to my dealer, presuming the "valet" boy who drove it probably floored it a lot. :behead:

wait, thats the price for the demo?

When I was buying my T4R, there was a demo. The dealer had me test acceleration (pedal to the metal), slamming on the brakes, etc. This is not how a car should be broken in.

Don't get the demo. I made sure that I told the dealer to not have anyone test drive my ordered vehicle.
