Have spent quite a while now reviewing the install discussion, suggestions and data. Very Helpful. However, I notice there is frequent reference to replacing additional parts as part of the job. Mount kit, sway bar (?) bushings, links. But, there is not much discussion of these items, function or sources.

I have a pretty worn X-REAS system that has just sprung a leak, and am wondering what would be the typical, sensible, recommended components to replace while everything is disassembled. I may proceed with this next week and don't want to leave out anything obvious to all (but me!)...

I’ve replaced XREAS to Bilstein 5100’s on all three of mine, and didn’t buy/replace anything else, just swapped the shocks on all 4 corners. Maybe check your lower ball joints, upper control arm ball joints, sway bar bushings and end links, and tie rod ends for play and replace if necessary, but after 150,000 on my 2WD and 140,000 on my 4WD it hasn’t yet been necessary.

Like mwebster22 said, check those parts as necessary. Give them a good visual inspection for tears or leaks. I recommend jacking the car up and inspecting them for play. Other than that use your best judgement; some of the parts are cheap and easy to do with the disassembly you'll be doing.

Depending on how high you plan on going, look into aftermarket UCAs.

On my 2WD 07, over last weekend I replaced the:
XREAS with 5100's set at the second from bottom (no oil in right front xreas at all, with no visible leaks?)
Front springs with new factory Toyota (originals were drooping severely)
Front and rear calipers -Napa Eclipse Semi-Loaded (front passenger was seizing so I swapped them all)
Front and rear Napa Adaptive brake pads
New Napa Ultra Premium coated rotors all around
and one front hub due to fowled threads on the studs (will fix and keep 4 spare)
After 150,000 it deserved an update.

Later this summer I plan on swapping out the XREAS on my 05 4x4 with 5100's, reusing the stock springs, and changing nothing else unless it's broken.

It's a Toyota so there's really no need to change parts just for the sake of it.

I would get new strut top mounts. The rubber in the OEM mounts is likely worn down by now. Definitely doesn't hurt to change it out. You'll have everything apart already.
