V8 4.7L Exhaust Manifold Stud Specs

Anyone know what the specs are for the V8 4.7L exhaust mani stud? Same as the V6 4.0L?

I assume M8 x 1.25 but multiple part numbers exist for 4.0 and 4.7L. Which makes me think the length might be different.

ARP makes an exhaust manifold stud kit for the 4.0L. Ultimately I want to know if they are the same specs. I’m thinking yes but need to verify. If anyone has some studs sitting around and can post the specs including length that would be awesome.

Thanks. Looks like M10x1.25 40mm length.

So much for that. There are options but the broaches are different. Will need to get creative.

Hmm... That thread is different. M10 x 1.5. I will order an OEM stud and do it the old fashioned way. Measure it out.

Good to know!

I wonder if the inboard thread is 1.5 distal to the broach... and the outboard thread is 1.25. Which could be why I’m hearing different info. Take a look at the following pic. Could be the angle but the threads do look a bit different.

I will know soon enough. Will obtain a genuine stud and update this thread... pun intended

Thumbs up

Obtained an OEM stud last night.

OEM 4.7L stud is 10M 1.25 x 40mm length. Confirmed. Inboard and outboard threads are the same.

If anyone is interested, the following ARP stainless exhaust manifold kit *should* work with DT headers. Obviously don’t know for certain and would need to test fit as the broach is bigger than stock, (DT header flange is 3/8”), and the overall stud length is 8mm longer.

ARP Stainless Steel Accessory Studs 400-8036 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing

Pics before and after install of ARP studs with DT headers on a 1GR Tacoma below. Something to consider if you are already going to be elbow deep in a shitty header install anyway. This is primarily an aesthetic upgrade. The ARP studs are stronger than OEM but absolutely not necessary.
