Retrofit 5th Gen Vented Seats
Thinking of trying to put 5th Gen Vented Leather in my 4th, I have a line on a color matched interior. I have located the part number for the seat temp controller (84752-35010) other than needing a wiring harness, do you think this could work?

Hell someone retrofitted BMW E90 seats into a 3rd gen 4runner so anything is possible.

Called the yard they are including the Controller, and the floor wiring harness. anyone have any idea if there would be any other module/controller behind the dash that would be required?

Heated seat wiring is simple, nothing to it. I'm sure this can easily be retrofitted into your 4th gen.

After waiting 2 weeks for a call back I called them, no movement on pulling the switch or wiring harness. Rep suggested that for his guys to go pull the part they wanted 20% down on the full order. $400 to pull the switch and harness. without knowing it will/wont work.
Anyone know somebody with a 2014 with H/V seats who can take a pic of the back of the switch?

managed to snag a pic of the module from ebay,
looking at it, the switch is likely going to connect to a controller elsewhere, I don't think its feasible to continue.

What about the airbag system? If you don't currently have airbags in your seats you obviously don't have to worry about integrating, if integrating is possible.

Given it has the wiring harness like you were saying it should be pretty simple. probably the easiest thing to do would look at the repair manual for your 4runner and the one for the new 4runner and find the wiring pinout. if all else fails a multimeter would make quick work of finding which plug does what. I'm still planning to swap in srt8 seats in mine but the ones I ordered at Christmas ended up being damaged in shipping so I just never got them and got a refund. The worst part of this is probably going to be figuring out the seat bracket situation. Also if those seats have airbags test the ohm rating of your current seat airbag to make sure you can plug it in. Otherwise you may need a resistor to mimic the toyota airbag OHM rating. All of which is in the repair manual

But have you actually tried these seats in the 5th gen? I'm not really impressed with them. a lot of cars with these are more a gimmick but the Mercedes ones work well.

Looking at that controller switch, it appears that they are heated and cooled seats, which means there is definitely a computer module that needs to be integrated to have full functionality out of them. I’m sure there would be issues integrating the air bags as well, unless you are really good with studying wire diagrams, and have all the correct modules. Just swapping the seats, if you want them for aesthetic reasons should be fairly straightforward, but getting the electronics working properly would make it more trouble than it’s worth for me personally. The only thing that would be fairly simple would be the seat heaters, especially if your truck already has the switches and wiring.

Have you confirmed that these seats don't require some kind of CAN connection?
I swapped some Tesla seats into my Volvo a few years back and found that the passenger side was a straight 12v on off swap, but the drivers side controls operated off of CANBUS and wouldn't move or do anything without seeing a signal that I couldn't reproduce.
Just a thought! I hadn't even thought about retrofitting ventilated seats, would certainly make a difference in the summer!
