06+ Headlight Conversion - Headlight Cutoff

Hey everyone,

I just completed an OEM 06+ headlight conversion on my 03 runner. I have a question regarding the cutoff lines for the projectors.

Currently my projectors have this type of cutoff:

I've researched the forum and I do see others stating they have similar cut off patterns, but I haven't seen actual pictures. I'm inquiring if anyone has actual pictures of 06+ headlight cutoffs on a wall.

I think I'm overthinking because this cutoff looks no where near the cutoff of my s2000; I know comparing stock 06+ projectors to ap1 projectors are totally different, just want to make sure I didn't mess up this adjustment.

Attached is a picture of my car 25ft away from the wall, headlights have been aimed 2 in below projector level height on the wall

Thanks!

if your truck is lifted, do a 3 inch drop instead, lower cutoff step should be used. now make sure you got the horizontal spacing correct also.
make sure the bulbs are straight and good, lots of aftermarket bulbs are not aligned correctly, especially the ddm ones, i prefer to use oem bulbs like osram and philips. but the morimoto and cn light are pretty legit for hid bulbs.

i have s2k projectors retrofitted in my truck, so we are spoiled by the width of the light.

It looks pretty good to me.

What is bothering you about it.

If it is the “steps”, that’s normal and is how they cut the light blocking plate in the projector to limit light to oncoming drivers.

Left hand drive will have the “steps” going the opposite way.

That cutoff from the stick projectors is why I retro fitted mine with MoriMoto stuff. So much better than stock projectors. Totally worth the money. From your pics, I don’t think much more can be done to adjust for the better. I fought with the stock setup to get a good pattern.

Lots of fade and wash out on the right side of each, more prominent on the passenger side. Likely the bulbs. With the right bulbs the OEM projector cutoff is pretty decent and wide.
