Yeah, the current 6 is pretty gutless where it counts for me...lower in the RPM range and going up mountains. My buddy has a 5th Gen which I occasionally have driven. It isn't a dog at all but you have to gas it and shift down in gears quite a bit more compared to my 4.7L. If they either pop in a V8 (will not happen) or retune the 6 to better power delivery and more torque, I'd consider it. Other than that, it needs to be modernized. Same with the Tundra...looks 2005ish on the inside.
Nothing feels like a V8. The V6 is a fine motor but it doesn't have any soul. That said, a mild hybrid V6 is much more likely than a naturally aspirated V8 – in any vehicle like this moving forward. The N/A V8 is (and maybe should be) dead.
