clock spring issue: no cruise control and horn permanently on
Was called out of the office because my T4R while standing in the parking started sounding the horn permanently! The car was not touched and the noise came from the horn and not the alarm.
The horn did not stop until I pulled the fuse. At the same time the alarm still works properly: on/off switch with the red button on the key.
When I put back the fuse, it is first quiet but when I press the horn field on the steering it does not stop any more.
I pulled the fuse of the horn and did a short test ride
The symptoms are following:
1. horn permanent on when I push the field only once
2. cruise control light is up but does not work
My guess is that the clock spring is gone. Any other suggestions?
[B]And one request: how can I make sure that my diagnosis - clock spring - is actually correct? These little bastards are quiet expensive and I don't want to order them unnecessary. Are there any other symptoms?

Am planning to dismantle the steering wheel and take a look at the spring lock, but first I have to get to Vienna which is still a ride of 800miles ahead.
