Exhaust outlet locations, where is best?

I'm thinking about departure angle. The exhaust tip is so low, I'm thinking about routing it higher through the bumper. Yes, it will be hot. Yes, I will put heat shielding up. No, I don't want side exhaust.
Not too worried about the safety concerns as I can make it safe, more worried about structural members that might be in the way.
I can fab cross member bracing for now, I do plan on building a rear bumper at some point in the future and everything will be fine then.
How have you dealt with it, where is your exhaust routed and how much and what kind of off roading do you do?

Nice. I will be doing this but using a 90deg bend to route out out by the tire. It's what I have seen a few do with the 4th gen.

Tuck it up close to frame rail all the way to the back and put a 90deg dump on it. easy peasy
