Think my subwoofer blew

Sounds like to turtle fking to Drum and bass back there...

2008 limited 4runner with jbl package

How screwed am I. I stopped searching at people saying it was a pain to replace...

I kinda wanted a mild upgrade...

And my dash stock nav system works but stopped reading cds... So i have not even looked into that

Anyone have any options for me?

When my sub blew, I put in Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8. I have the JBL system as well and this sub was plug and play. Trying to install a new amp was just too much work. This was a good and cheap replacement!

yeah i'm eye ballin this subwoofer too, just installed a new head unit and i can hear the bass hits harder, just a matter of time for it to blow as a lot of members here said it would after a new head unit install.

The subwoofer replacement is the easy part. I used a Pioneer TS-SW2002D2 8" Shallow-Mount Subwoofer. It's dual voice coil, so all you have to do is snip the wires at the plugs on the old sub (the white plastic part tells you the polarity of the wires, the top of the T is negative, the bottom is positive). Then strip them and insert them into the push terminals. Takes all of 5 minutes. You can clock the subwoofer so the holes line up with the enclosure's existing holes (don't listen to the guys at the 5:35 mark in the video). The logo won't be situated the right way, but you don't care about that, do you?

Getting to the subwoofer is the hardest part. Plan for that to take some time.

My girlfriend and I stuffed a 10" Rockford Fosgate sub where the stock one goes along with an amp, plus added some big 12V tie ins for powering stuff in the rear when we want. It bumps plenty good, though took a bit of time to get the box to fit and maximize it's volume since it was right on the brink of being too big of a sub. Works like a charm though, and besides the amp that we opted to just mount on the wall for easy access, everything is totally hidden and looks stock.

How cheap and non-time consuming do you want to be? I went cheap and a bit lazy, I removed the cover the incorrect but quick way (breaks the tabs but it does clip back together fine) and then used Elmers glue to reattach the foam like you can find on youtube. It still sounds good after about a month but when/if it fails I will replace the foam with a kit from Speakerworks, way cheaper than a new woofer. I have better things I can spend my money on.
