Seat modification

Hey all. Looking to attempt and lower my seat in my 03 4Runner. I have only found one post where someone has done this and all of the pictures are expired. Has anyone else modified their seat mounting brackets to lower the seat closer to the floor?

Not 100% sure, but I think there was something in LTDSC's build thread about modifying the roof or seat to make it more comfortable for taller people. Maybe it was a sunroof delete, I can remember. Not sure on the exact page, but I think it was earlier on. Reading through that thread we make you want to spend money, be careful!

I doubt that. I'm 5 11' and am constantly hitting my head on the A piller when offroading. The roofline on the 4th gens are so low.

You must have a short torso then, I am 5ft 10" and my head is less than an inch off the roof. If I spike my hair then it hits the roof.

I'm 6'5" with a sunroof and while the head room is tight I never hit my head on the A pillar or roof when offroading. I drive aggressively offroad so I'm not sure why you're hitting. Maybe you have really good posture.

Removing the seat and converting to manual rails will give you more room.

Same here, I’m 6’2” & the 4R is tight but not an issue. I have a sunroof too. Now my wife’s Acura CL is another story.

I’m 5’ 11” (standard torso lol) and hit or rub my head quite a bit on the roof and a lot when I have a hat on. Super annoying. Can’t say I’ve ever experienced this in any vehicle I’ve been in that I recall, definitely not one of this size. I find myself slouching at times because of this. I do have a sunroof so it’s apparently a bit tighter.
