Tmarton05's 2006 Limited Build Thread

Figured I would start this now since I am planning on installing an OME lift and new tires this weekend.

My truck is a 2006 Limited that I bought in the Spring of 2016 with 103k miles now sitting at 146k.

Totally stock the day after I bought it

Since then I have not done too much to the truck, I removed the running boards prior to a light offroading trip a few years back and installed the LFD Offroad crossbars with the stock roofrails.

Here it is with the running boards off.

Most recently I ordered 4 of the LFD Offroad roof rails and two of the cargo carrier/ light extensions.

This weekend I am installing an OME lift and a new set of Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires in size LT265/70R18. Will post pics once everything is installed!

Almost forgot, recently installed the POWER STOP Truck & Tow Performance Kit front brakes and spidertrax wheel spacers.

Hey man haven't done a whole lot of driving around my area. Mostly up north in Maine, but always down to explore new spots

Installed the 3" OME lift kit this weekend. Install went very smoothly other than a few rusted bolts that needed to be cut off. Having the Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires mounted on Tuesday

Before:

Halfway done (looks insane):

All done:

So far very impressed with the handling improvement over the old worn out stock suspension and love the new look. Will look much better with the larger tires installed!

Got my new tires mounted up today. Went with the Falken Wildpeak AT3W in a LT265/70R18. Alos got an alignment after the lift and the shop got it almost back to factory specs without aftermarket UCAs. Drove it today and everything feels great.

Haven't driven a lot on them yet but so far tires handle great and are not noticeable louder even on the highway which was very surprising especially for the E rated LT version

Nice Looking! Hows the overall ride outside of the little extra noise? Seems like a number of people say E rated tires are a rough ride.

Suspension is a lot stiffer than the old stock suspension, resulting in less body roll, almost zero nose diving when braking, and less of a floating feeling when going over bumps. Tires are amazing so far. Can't even tell they are a pretty aggressive A/T E rated tire. Drove 70 MPH on the highway tonight and there is almost no road noise in the cabin

Wow looks great! I've got almost the same exact truck. Best paint color!!

Thanks for all the info about your setup. Which specific springs/shocks from OME did you go with?

Any rubbing with the 265/70 tires AND the Spidertrax? I'd think so but what required trimming?

-Zach

Thanks man!

I went with the medium OME kit, 885 fronts and 2895 rears.

I pushed the front liners up and removed the front mud flaps before getting the tires mounted. So far no rubbing. I am pretty close to the body mount at full lock, but still clearing it

Know the Medford area well. Those pics look like they were taken at the old meadow glen mall.

Bellas has the best raviolis in new england. Too bad about Italos bakery.

Nice 4runner.

Haven't updated this in a while. Bought the LFD roofrack sidebars and two more crossbars to finish out the roof rack. (Don't have any good pictures, will add those later

This weekend installed JBA UCAs and new headlights since the old ones were foggy.

Lights before:

Lights after:

Old stock UCAs:

New JBA UCAs:

I have a Smittybilt X20 winch sitting in the basement waiting on a bumper....

tmarton05,

Is the color of your ’06 Limited stratosphere mica or nautical blue?

That lift looks really good!

I have the Daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer lift on mine, but I’m considering the OME lift kit, especially after seeing it on your T4R.

18” rims weren’t available in 2004!

ads2539,

Color is Nautical Blue. I would highly recommend the OME lift. Have loved it so far and been great for the price point
