DT Long Tubes and Bodylifts

Couldn't find many definitive answers on this so figured I'd try to collect all the information in one place.
Im currently waiting to receive the DT Long Tube Headers and I've been pondering the idea of a small bodylift to better accommodate larger tires, (nothing more than a 1in or 1.5in BL though). I know that with the shorty headers there was lots of issues with body lifts causing the headers to interfere with the steering column.
So my questions are:
Is this less of an issue with the long tubes by any chance?
If not, how many people have had success with long tubes and bodylifts without "dimpleing" the headers? (by changing out the steering column bolts for ones with flat heads possibly?)

Same exact question here. But I currently have a 1.5" BL.

I'm wondering about this as well as I have a body lift with the shorty headers and had to do puncture a few tubes to get the steering column to fit.

I wondered this in my thread. I’ll ask DT next time I have a chance.

I’m not lifted but had the long tubes and the Gibson exhaust installed just yesterday. They claimed they didn’t have to dimple but I haven’t gotten under the truck to check yet...

Who's they? They said it looks like they'll work just fine with a body lift? Not a suspension lift to be clear.

My install was the stealership (cringe, but they were the only ones willing to install new headers in my area) and when I asked after install if they needed to dimple they said no. But I don’t have any lift - body or suspension so not sure if that really helps you or not...

Can anyone add any useful information to this subject now that there's a lot more long tubes out there?

Obviously wouldn’t have to dimple if no kind of lift..

Not exactly what you're looking for, but I have the DT shortys with a 1" BL and the clearance is incredibly tight with the column but it works. If the long tubes are any better at all then I would assume they would work as well.

@blackoutt may be able to lend more information since he installed them when he owned it.

I reached out to Burtman Industries with this question today. Will revert back if/when they answer.

I heard back from Jason Burtman. He also offered to discuss via phone - very helpful! Sounds like long tube FTW

“It will work. Have done the install And you’ll have to make make some adjustments but nothing bad and then swapping out the steering column BOLT with one with a flat head usually is the only other thing needed. There’s some posts on it on the forum and the bolts only a dollar versus crashing in the headers, choosing the new bowl with the flat head makes much more sense, LOL.

NOW That’s for the short tubes come up for the long tubes they work much better on lifted trucks and you shouldn’t have to do anything as it actually is an easier in stall with the long tubes.”

Necro-bump for a part # or thread link? I must not be typing the correct syntax into search. Not finding a thread about these flat head bolts.

I have installed 7 sets of LT Doug Thorley headers on 4th gens. Stock suspension, body lift, huge suspension... they are all the same. Suspension and body lift doesn't have any impact on headers. They fit just fine. If somebody has to "dimple" them then they are installing them wrong. Edit: To ensure the steering coupling bolt doesn't hit, the entire coupling can be moved down to avoid the headers.
