Parking Brake/ABS/TRAC Dash Lights On

Hey all, having a heck of a week with my 07 Runner.

Have been having A/C issues. One refrigerant fill up at the mechanic gave me cold air for a month. The most recent fill up of refrigerant only lasted 4 days. The mechanic had green dye added, and could not find any leaks. So it looks like evaporator must be doing the leaking, and be bad. Time to decide whether to fix it, tough it out, or sell it.

In the same span of days, my dash started lighting up with the parking brake light, ABS, and TRAC OFF lights periodically coming on. I can't detect a pattern, but sometimes they've come on after an hour of driving and pulling into a parking lot, 20 minutes of driving and reversing into a parking spot, 10 minutes of driving and coming to a stop at a light. The lights then stay on until I park and turn the vehicle off. Upon restarting, the lights are not on, but they likely will come on during the next drive.

I checked the brake fluid level, and it is 2/3 full between the low and max level marks. I have confirmed that the parking break lever is not engaged.

Other notes: There don't seem to be any noticeable symptoms other than the lights coming on. I have noticed slightly lower than normal RPMs, and what feels like sluggish acceleration from stop. It has been a rather hot week, with 90-95 degree days. I took a 5 hour trip on one of those days, and the lights starting triggering the day after that. May not be relevant, but figured I'd mention it.

What else should I be checking? I'm heading to the auto parts store now to see if it will throw a code.

Check your gas cap
My gas cap had a gasket or o ring go bad and it makes the cap just slightly loose which lights up the dash like a Christmas tree
Got a replacement cap from Napa and no problem since

For those that find this thread via Google, these lights were coming on in my '06 and the culprit turned out to be my headlights. I replaced my high and low beam bulbs with LEDs about two years ago. I noticed the brake and other dash lights would come on only when the headlights were on. After a while, I noticed a bit of flickering in one headlight. As soon as I replaced them with new LEDs, the dash warning lights all went off.

Question

Bump on this thread. Ever resolved?

I have had that exact same set of lights come on: vsc Trac vsc off abs and brake while driving this week.

Recently worked in the drivers side wheel well and got some lights because I stretched out the abs wire, but I fixed that a month ago. Brake WASN'T one of those lights though.

Can the basic code checker at autozone pull codes from a Toyota T4R? I see different things in different threads and am not sure how to check the codes myself.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

When my car doesn't seem right, I don't feel right.

They can pull some codes but not sure about ABS codes.

Idk what to do next!

Hey guys, 07' limited 4.0L 4x4
Went to start a couple days ago and clicking. Battery had 11v , replaced battery check at idle 13.4v, drove 2 days battery dead again, replaced alternator with a duralast 130amp reman lifetime warranty, added a ground from frame to block, cleaned others. Started the truck 11.4v. and drops pretty fast, starts spuddering and whatnot then cuts off. I have vsc/trac , brake , abs and it won't shift. Also no power windows, front or rear wipers no turn signals but I have flashers.... No radio or clock, climate control. The old alternator had 170k , the starter looks just as bad... what should I do next other than pulling the 3 day old alternator 9loff and having it tested and if they say it's good??? Oh and all the fuses are good as well other than the wiper fuses?!? Idk , help!! Lol thanks
