The normal versions moving forward will be all stainless except for the 3/8” thick mounting flange. That’s the only unique aspect of the premium version. The air tubes were not stainless, then a couple of them rusted, and now they will all be stainless. Most of the documentation for this is in Marfy’s thread and not this one.
It’s also worth noting that DT does have a warranty that’ll replace the headers if they fail from rust at the flange. You’d still have to remove them and reinstall on your own dime though.
Going from memory here, so please correct me if I’ve gotten anything wrong here

Got a voicemail from Jason letting me know mine were ready to ship via FedEx and that the o2 spacers would be shipping USPS separately. He was not able to advise on the shipping timeframe for the titanium stud kit I ordered but hopefully I won't get to the point where I'm waiting on the hardware to show up to install them. Still haven't seen any tracking information in my FedEx app yet, but fingers crossed I see them next week.

From my conversation with Jason, if you haven't already received tracking or delivery of the Titanium studs, then your studs are still in manufacturing. I think (speculation) we may have shocked the manufacturer with the sudden spike in orders for that specific set of parts.
I know for certain that I will have headers without studs for at least a few days.

Starting to feel like Christmas again I see. Love the photos.
If anyone wasn't sure, the SS flanges, which I have mentioned before, was the reason I was told the this buy took longer. Longer due to supplier being behind on the producing and shipping those SS flanges. If doug Thorley had some other reasons they may have given as to what contributed to the wait, then cool and I'm glad they shared those for whoever may have asked, as I didn't know of any other reasons. The reason these took longer - was because the SS flanges were late to come in and producing them from their supplier took way longer, which slowed stuff down.
If anyone wants an update that haven't gotten an email or a text from me, you can call or text me at 717-319-2100 all day today, tomorrow and friday
Originally, I told a lot of you that ordered more than one part, (high flow cats, Cel eliminators, Titanium Studs, Gibson Exhausts, etc that I was hoping to have all those type items ship together in one shipment. Meaning the cats, and or studs/cel eliminators all in one box at Doug Thorley. That didn't work out, so that means those other items are shipping separately as to not hold up the header orders. I'm fronting those costs on all those extra shipments and that's fine as I just want everyone to get all the items and it will be quicker this way. On the Titanium studs more are being made as we speak so, those that didn't get studs yet, will by next week, or shortly after. Still waiting for final eta on those. My cost on the studs has gone up quite a bit also, and the current price on the site is going to go up in probably a few days from now, when I get time to change it, so for those that haven't ordered Titanium studs/nuts, you'll save a little ordering sooner than later.
I spent a crap load of time petitioning with Doug Thorley to get these Premium Headers made. They didn't want to do it originally, as they rarely change from their normal methods of manufacturing. Finally after a lot of coaxing and pressure and me also telling customers to call them they agreed if I was able to get at least 20 people, they would do it. I have to say again it's very rare that any manufacture does this. Most are stubborn and just don't care, especially about a Toyota 4Runner where only 100k a year were made, vs say a ford explorer 500k a year made. I've dealt with many factories for a very long time and still can't believe they did it! I of course did also explain how Toyota 4Runner owners in particular, love their vehicles and hold to to them, for LIFE and made them see eye to eye and understand the culture there is with these vehicles. I still have my 1997 3rd gen 4Runner which I also will never sell. It's like an old shoe that fits perfect, wears well, never breaks, just like the 4th gen. But that 4th gen will now have bulletproof headers and aircraft titanium hardware for those that chose it

Should we use DT gaskets or re use the OEM?
Also the drivers side won't quite go, looks like I either need to lift the engine slightly or remove the steering shaft to get it in place. Only need ~3/8" to clear the studs

Previous sets of instructions mention unbolting the engine mount on the side you’re installing and using a 2x4 to raise that side enough to fit, then reattach the engine mount.

...I wish I had the balls to go for this blind haha. Here’s the pdf from the shorties. Just ignore the stuff that’s obviously not applicable.
