Just curious, did any of you guys have light gouges on the mating side of the flange? I called Doug Thorley and they said the gasket will seal the imperfections. Just curious if it was just mine or if it was common.

I just received my DT headers and Y pipe today. One thing I noticed is that the resonators in the DT Y-pipe is that they are possibly not stainless steel? I noticed that the resonator metal seemed to look different from the rest of the pipes and when using a magnet it stuck to the resonators but not any of the other pipes or flanges. Wondering if the actual resonators are not made of stainless but of regular steel? has anyone else noticed this or has this been brought up before? sorry if it has...

Hey Kyler TM87 Are those headers for a 2003-2004 4Runner? The reason I ask is The headers in your pictures do not have the air tubes for the SAIP. I also noticed that the flange where the header bolts to the head are different than the headers with the air tubes for the SAIP. Thanks for your time!

I was under the impression that only the headers in this specific group buy are "fully" ss. That doesn't go for any other headers outside of this buy or other exhaust components.

Yep me too. I was one of the last to get on the GB, so I wasn't sweating it. Now starting to wonder.....

I just installed the manifold on the passenger side. It was practically impossible to get a torque wrench on a couple of nuts, even with swivals. Did you find yourself hand tightening those nuts that were impossible to get too? I'm anal about torque specs, esp since it's stated 20-25 ft lbs. Paranoid about over or untorque them since it can cause an exhaust leak. The only way for me to get to that impossible nut is with a box wrench.

Torque what you can, come behind that with your flex head box and see what it feels like, then tighten those you can't get the torque wrench on.
Yes I would have liked to be able to torque the all to spec, just not possible

I was under the impression that they are for a 2003 V8... Feeling really stupid and frantically reading up on what exactly you are talking about. Will have to take a good look at them tomorrow in the light.

It looks like the only way to really get access is completely removal the motor mount from the short block, than jacking up the engine. But that's too much work for torquing one nut. Fyi, this tool helped me get to some of the other nuts.

They appear to be for a 2003 or 2004 model, you should be good.

Thanks man. Yeah had to look last night what SAIP meant. 2003 & 2004 V8 donít have the secondary air injection pump.

Also read a pretty comical conversation some other guys had a while hashing the V6 vs V8 debate. That was posted in 2011.

Pretty amazing itís 2020 and now thereís badass improvements like this coming out.

Just got everyone installed today. I'm letting the car cool atm so I can torque it a 2nd time. For some of you guys, you might have to bend the oil check tube like i did to get the bolt to line up. Besides that, with the midpipes, manifolds and exhaust, it sounds very loud and throaty when revving it at idle. I'll take it for spin tomorrow to see how differently it feels.

@old_man_millenial on Instagram: “Snows here! #toyota #4runner #trd #V8 #toyotanation #dougthorleyheaders #magnaflowexhaust #scswheels #doughnuts #snownuts #4runnernation…”

Got mine swapped out. Thereís a short clip of the sound on my Instagram at the link Iíve copied above. Hereís some pictures of the old shorties too. Iím glad this went somewhere and people are getting a premium product. I will say the anger came back a bit when I payed to get the long tubes installed though. Glad itís over.
