Just a PSA, if you’re getting the headers and y-pipe replaced, make sure to get the old parts back and send them off to recycle. I’ve got quotes back for over $450 for my OEM cats. I could probably get more, but I don’t have many options locally. I having to go internet recyclers. Anyone gotten any better deals?

I got mine, not sure what the hold up was for you, but sorry to hear that.

I am impressed once again by the quality of the materials. Cant wait to hear what it sounds like with only long tubes and Ypipe

I haven't gotten any quotes simply because I kind of want to keep the old ones in case I move somewhere with emissions testing...

Well, yeah, there's that too. It's a good point. That's so far removed from a likelihood for me that it hadn't crossed my mind, lol.

Yeah I plan to move out west within 5 years and I'm not sure what I'll face out there

My OEMs are in good shape so I'm thinking of saving them too. My Parents live in AZ and are in their mid 80s, so I will most likely end up out there to help take care of them. I think Phoenix has testing don't they?

On the other side of this coin is I want to be responsible and put a CAT on this thing in the short term. Florida has no inspections and thats not an issue but the fumes are almost toxic just sitting at a red light. So this thing is polluting it's ass off, which I knew going into a LT install. It takes me on a 40 mile trip to the airport a couple times a month and then just sits there for weeks at a time, so luckily I don't have a daily commute as far as the environment is concerned.

Looking at a single cat behind the DT Y pipe just to help with that though. One might not be much help unfortunately.

I went with an OEM grade magnaflow y-pipe set that has the OEM quality cats. I have less stink out of my exhaust with those two cats than I did with my old stock 4 cats.

I considered getting the DT y-pipe and then getting good cats to replace the resonators on their part. Essentially just using their y-pipe as a starting point for fabrication. That would have ended up cheaper actually.

I was thinking that same thing. I wonder how much heat the CATs would transfer to the transmission in the same position as the DT resonators. Cutting up my DT Y is not desirable but this might have to happen. I would love to do what @Inv4drZm did. Not sure if I can swing the coin to have it done right now. I never learned how to weld. Bought a mig but don't have the time to practice.

I finally got an update on this from my guy at DT and I'm now being told as of last week it could be up to a year from now. Yes, I'm not happy about this as I was told originally it was to be much quicker.

Yes but the costs that the carb dept wants I'm told tripled and it's not something they are going to be doing right now. It's possible it could be up to a year. If you call someone else selling DT headers and they tell you 2 months, they aren't telling the truth and just want to get your order. THis is right from the Big Wigs at DT. Now, I do have people in your state that have gotten this to pass. You can call or text me at 717-319-2100 and I can do into more detail.

I have an account with Magnaflow for anyone that wants one of their replacement Y pipes... I've had discussions with DT about their Y pipe and they did tell me the resonators don't effect flow to any noticeable degree. The resonators are there to keep drone down inside the cabin and have very light fiberglass material inside which does this, like a super super high flow cat kinda with little to no change in performance. I've also gotten feedback from customers and DT that in states that need cats, the resonators made inspections easier when cats are needed. Again, I'm guess that depends on the state you are in and how thorough/picky the techs are looking at this stuff in states where you need cats.

Also, regarding cutting out the resonators for people that need cats, there is a super small magnaflow cat I have that will fit in there that's much slimmer and smaller than the factory cats (I have em for only $79 each) so heat wouldn't be an issue. I have some installed pics but I'll have to dig to try and find them. If I do, will edit this post.

Also, my PM's on here fill up asap, so if anyone has further questions, please call or text the number above. Don't PM, lol as you can see below

The hold up is they make them in batches. They can only make so many of their products at a time. I got mine the 14th. Sounds like you got one from the latest batch, which mine was a part of.

So what are the odds of Doug Thorley making another batch of the long tubes? I wasn't ready to pull the trigger last year but with my cats failing I think it's time to swap em out for some long tubes.

I'm more than hoping this group buy happens again. I know another member asked regarding the V6, but will there be a California legal V8 version in the near future?

I have a 2006 V8 2WD above 200k and still running strong, but would like to have these anyway.
