I've made enough "excuses to buy tools" over my years, this is a job I never anticipate doing again, so lets let someone else bust knuckles while I sit in an air conditioned office all day hahaha

I'm hoping to tackle the headers myself, if only to spend the would-have-been install costs on other parts for the exhaust system.

I am in luck that my install shop is less than half a mile from my garage, so if I get over my head, I'll just have them come get it.

Has anyone heard from Jason lately? I'm wondering when these things are going to start production. I thought I was sneaking in at the last minute when I paid a couple weeks ago, haha.

Been trying to get in touch for a few days now, left a voice message and a text with no luck yet. The shop I talked with said ~$450~ for install so I am onboard with this

$450 is one hell of an install price! Very good! Should be free all day Tuesday if anyone needs to call.

Got a pm from Jason but when I tried to answer back it said that his inbox was full so I couldn't answer back.
Jason, I wanted to hold off on the hi-flow cats but want everything else, short tube premium headers, Y pipe, 02 spacers and the titanium stud/nut set.
If you clear you inbox I will pm you my cell #.

Hey Jason, any update on these? The 5-7 week lead time estimate came from 9/16, would it be safe to say that these will be here before Thanksgiving?

Thinking that would be a good weekend for many of us to tackle the install with extra time off.

No to be super obvious, but anyone who hears from Jason on lead times, please make sure to post up what you find out. I hate to call just to ask if he's heard from DT on production.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that no post from him saying production has begun means that DT has not started yet. When he and I spoke a few weeks ago, it almost sounded like DT was going to wait until orders stopped coming in before they closed it/started production- but that was not said explicitly.

I do know that they aren't starting production until the Group Buy closes. That's largely a factor of purchasing the stainless material for the flanges (the only unique feature of these headers); it won't make financial sense for them to buy material until they know the total amount they need. Their price per pound will go down as the lbs. of material goes up. Plus, I'm sure their production schedule will be to make all of these in a single batch, so they wouldn't start until they know the batch qty either.

I have a set of Dough Thorley shorties at home in box. What's a good labor cost to install them and an entire new exhaust system? I imagine it's one pain in the ass to do it. I'd expect to pay somewhere around $800 in labor alone.

I paid $800 for install but when I called Jason he said he knew of some places doing for around $400. I guess it just depends where you live. For ex, California and NY have crazy labor rates and anywhere it's very expensive to live - like NY and CA will cost way more. I got the side dual Gibson from Burtman and that is super easy to put on! Install took me 35 min.

I think this is right. I’ve been speaking briefly with the company Doug Thorley and last I heard was nothing had started as Jason is still taking orders. Not sure if that has changed recently, but that’s where it seems like things are.

I sincerely hope that's not right. The deal I agreed to should be half way through production by now. @Jason B
