Had pretty bad stink from the OEM cats, and they cleaned it up nicely. Still have the typical exhaust smell, but the rotten smell is gone. It'll probably take them longer to get up to temp where you're thinking about installing them, but once they're hot, they should work as well as mine do.

Running the same cats here. Very happy w/ them.

If you're installing yourself, try it out first. A side exit exhaust tip helps. Beyond that, here's a more complete answer:
If you ordered long tube headers and the Thorley y-pipe, the best place for the cats to go is to replace the resonators on the y-pipe. You want cats as close to the engine-end of the exhaust as possible, because cats have to get up to 800-900 degrees before they start to do the, uh, catalytic conversion The further away they are, the "colder" (in relative terms) they'll be and the less converting they'll do.
This placement kind of feels like a waste when you just immediately hack up the DT y-pipe, but don't forget that this is the only stainless steel, madrel bent, y-pipe offering that can provide a starting point for you. It does 90% of the fabrication work for you, and makes it incredibly easy for an exhaust shop to get it done. Don't cheap out on the cats. Those G-sports or an OEM grade from somewhere will filter the best. I'm personally pleased with the OEM grade magnaflow, but they are more expensive than the generic "high flow" magnaflow most people run.
If you got shorty headers, then there'll be a nice gap between the y-pipe and headers that you'll want your cats to go.

I ended up ordering OEM manifold studs and nuts from Partsouq for $75. Not wanting to wait for the titanium kit. The other option is an ARP kit. Or reuse stock.

Dang, that stinks. Not a good look for TW. The studs are indeed really nice, but I can’t believe the delays have gone this long.
I’m not privy to any titanium shortages or raw material supply chain issues, but if it were outside their control, I’d have expected some kind of communication. Nothing on their social media indicates they are having issues... As is, it seems like we just swamped them beyond their production capacity (or willingness).
I feel guilty that I was a squeaky wheel and received mine at this point

Bringing this thread back to the front page.
Any recent titanium deliveries? I'm trying to remain patient on these, but my truck at 252k is in dire need of all the new parts I've purchased and I've got a decent amount of projects I need it for... so yeah, running out of time to be patient.

Still waiting and this virus is definitely not going to help. Of course anyone that can’t wait any longer on studs, I may have another option soon. If anyone can’t wait and needs refunded just call me or text me and it won’t be an issue 717-319-2100
Stay safe out there. Keep washing hands and don’t touch your face and you’ll be ok.

So I dropped my truck off at the dealership today to have them swap the exhaust out. My old exhaust decided to start rattling away and I guess it's time to get it done and bite the bullet on labour-$$$.
I bought the LT headers, the y-pipe, the Gibson exhaust with right-side exit, and the titanium hardware kit. I ended up ordering the 90deg mini-cats off Amazon, rather than those straight spacer adapters.
My question to those of you that already installed everything (and went with the 90deg mini-cats), did you have issues with them threading into the y-pipe bungs? They seem to thread into the DT headers, but only threaded in about one turn or so on the y-pipe - did you have to chase the threads...or?
Also, did anyone's y-pipe come with clamping hardware, because mine didn't
Any other installation issues that may come up?

My 90 degree adapters for the sensors went right into my headers and my y-pipe. Your y-pipe should've came with clamps. Contact DT.

My left side y pipe sensor bung threads where all out of wack. Right went in fine. I was under the impression, you should never space header downstream bungs, those two sensors are integral to computer readings for a properly running truck. . I stacked two 90degree spacers on top of each other on my Dt y pipe and no cel, truck runs well.
Also another thing to add. I had to heat and bend my y pipe to meet my lt headers. The driver side was off almost two inches.
I’m running Dt long tube, Dt y pipe and Gibson. Again no need for mini cat spacers.

The Y Pipe Fitment issues are widespread, we had to cut/reweld my factory Y pipe because as you mentioned, the drivers side didn't fit worth a shit. Surely nothing will come of the fact that these clearly weren't built to mate up with a factory Y pipe, and even those who bought the Doug Thorley one like yourself they didn't fit, which is even more impressive that 2 pieces by the same manufacturer, for the same truck, don't even bolt together without modification. Makes me glad I didn't buy the Y pipe just to have to hack it up.
Honestly, I'm probably 5/10 on being satisfied with this purchase, between the wait time, poor communication, and then fitment issues, the only thing I'm happy with is the fact that my manifold tick is gone, which could have been solved with replacement manifolds about 6 months quicker and hundreds of dollars cheaper.

My Y pipe had the issues as well. The headers I'm happy with. Wait time sucked, but having done multiple group buys on here, I knew what to expect. That said, I really wish a true Toyota fan company would jump into the 2UZ 4runners and find us ways to get some power with reasonably priced intake, exhaust, and internal/tuning mods. The LS world is just too competitive, and there are too many elderly and families that still own these trucks to have any serious interest in getting more power to make it worth a companies time for R&D. Gadget at URD has so much interest from people wanting power out of the V6, it's not worth his time either. The independent Tundra guys out west have probably gotten some decent results, but they can't produce products on a large scale. There again the LS in a pre runner is a no brainer. GM cores are everywhere. We need to keep supporting
@ Charles4x4
and Steel City Racing at KOH though!!

I've had my muffler shop install the new headers and titanium studs a month ago. Took them 20 hours!! He told me in the 30 years of doing muffler work, this was a son of a *****! Got the headers installed, titanium studs and new G-sport cats and all is good!
Definitely worth it, but expensive! Pretty happy with the results

It wasn't the easiest mod I've ever done but glad I tackled it. I'd say I had 20 -25 hrs over the course of 3 to 4 days and by myself. Had my Son working the floor jack for about 10 minutes one day because getting the drivers side lifted up was a PIA. But that was it for help.
I bought a Vibrant muffler and was leaning toward the G-sports, but the damn shut down has me sittin on my ass now with no income insight, waiting on the Golf Channel to figure their shit out so we can go back to work.
So all mods have stopped. I've still got the old Thrush w no Cats on there for now. It's on the road and running good though, so I can't complain too much on that one.

The guy from the exhaust shop who did my DT shorties said they were a SOB to get in, and that the bolts weren't lining up right (he thinks the Doug Thorley molds might be slightly off?). Two studs broke off during the process.
He had to take off, and then put back on, the drivers side header 4 times. He also had issues with the passenger side too, but not as bad. He didn't tell me exactly how long it took him but I'm guessing 10-12 hours. I'll be posting an update in my exhaust system thread soon.
