Issues with suspension lift install
Im trying to do the Bilstein 5100s with OME886 with a top hat spacer.
I got the passenger side in successfully although it was pretty hard but the drivers side does not have enough "droop" in order for me to bolt in the bottom of the strut AND get the top hat spacer, top hat, and coil aligned properly.
What are my options?
I have the LCA loose, unbolted the bottom of the spindle and the coil gets snagged and then the strut inside gets stuck on the coil so it isnt straight up and down and aligning with the center top hat hole.
I apologize if my English doesnt make sense, it has been a very long day of frustration.

For anyone wondering what went wrong, I installed the bottom spring support cup upside down. Rookie mistake.
It does suck that there were 160 views on the thread with no suggestions.

Glad you got it figured out! Saw it earlier but didn't have any input. More pictures may have helped up front, but I definitely understand when you're in the middle of something and things not going smoothly... Again, Glad you got it though!

To be fair you didn't give a lot of info for anyone to help you, you just said you couldn't get it in but had no problems with the other side you only posted one photos and it doesn't show the shock trying to be put in.
It's hard to help someone without enough photos of various areas to show a possible issue, more photos of when you were trying to get it to go in and from different angles, etc. might of shown some here where you were having an issue, I was one of the "views" and would of loved to help you but without much to go on and see I couldn't just guess at what the issue was causing you problems, but it's all water under the bridge now.
Very glad you figure out the issue and now you can relax a bit!!

I seen this post shortly after posted.
Just knowing trying to get 886s in with a top hat spacer isn't that easy, I was going to ask, what clip setting you had it on.
As Volk stated, with the lack of picture, which would have help, blowing this thread up with your answer.
You do know that your 5100s on them 886s wont last long. Not recommended!

Even not having the flat spot of the coil not butted up on that cup can give the same problem, been there before.

This. Probably 40 (or more) of the 160 could have instantly identified the issue with a pic of the coil/shock unit. And while I totally get being frustrated since you were in the middle of the job, 12 hours or whatever is a pretty short window given most people were asleep at the time of the original post & then got up & went to work. Just b/c they took a look at your post doesn’t mean they had time to reply even had there been enough info.
In any case, glad you sorted it out.

Why do you say this? I have a V8 with a 110lb plate bumper coming in the mail in two days. I had done about two weeks of research but have not found anything against the 886 with the Bilsteins, id like to hear what you have heard on the issue.

Found nothing on direct threads, just comments on this setup in other/similar threads.
They dont pair well together, which in turn, wear out too quick.
I've ran that setup for a short time, they didnt handle the springs good.
Im also a v6, but a lot of weight built on it.
