Hatch won't close FML.. any ideas?

had the issue intermediately.. then a few months ago i heard the motor get weaker grabbing the door shut.. until i couldn't get it to work on the door.. but if i closed the hook with a screw driver it would grab and close correctly..

I buy a new latch from the dealership.. install it.. now this is where it gets weird.. everything works as it should (door lock, which hasn't worked with the key in years) and the switch which i replaced a couple year back because previous one melted) if i take the plastic strip that holds the handle and revers lights(6 bolts off) and expose all the wires(reverse lights, switch, key lock.. they all work.. i put back together then they don't work...

every time i plug in the smaller blue adapter to the ECU b on the hatch my license plate driver side bulb turns on and stays on..

I've chased down every lose wire... tried every reset.. and still can't get this to work properly..

side note my hatch rear window hasn't rolled down in years, but i do get a clicking sound now after all the resets..

could i need an ECU b? I haven't seen anyone have to replace one of those..

any help is appreciated?

Sounds like the wiring is being pinched or a screw is hitting the wire when the plastic trim goes back on. Very carefully and methodically place and tape the wiring in place, check functionally and then put the plastic back on one screw at a time. Put a screw in and test, repeat till done or it stops working. That should get you closer to the problem.
