Re-doing most of front end - anything I'm missing?
Hey guys, so I just went in for an alignment a couple weeks ago and they told me my front left shock is leaking (XREAS), the front left UCA ball joint is worn, and the conical hole in the top of the steering knuckle (where the UCA BJ goes) has opened up. I've had a cheap spacer lift in for a few years now and am looking at this as an opportunity to upgrade things. I also have about 171k miles on all the stock stuff in there, so I was thinking about doing some preventative maintenance since I'll have half the front end torn apart anyway. I'm hoping to get maybe another 100k miles out of the vehicle (it's a 2008 sport ed., V6).
Since I need to replace the front left knuckle, I figured I'd do the other side just for good measure. I think it's time to get rid of XREAS, so I think I'm going to upgrade everything to Icons with remote reservoirs and their billet UCA with the Delta Joints.
My CV axles seem to be sputtering grease on things behind them, and with as many miles as I have, I think I'm going to replace those. I also want to go ahead and do the bearings since everything else is off.
Here are the part numbers I've come up with scouring this forum and other places online:
CV axles (x2): 43430-60061
right knuckle: 43211-60200
left knuckle: 43212-60200
bearing assembly (x2): 43570-60011
For inquiring minds, here are the Icon part numbers I'm looking at:
remote res front coilovers: 58745
remote res rear shock pair: 57810P
billet UCA: 58551DJ
2" lift rear springs: 52700
rear shock shin guards: 56100
I'm not worried about installing all the Icon gear since it's not incredibly different than when I put the spacer lift on. I also found this handy instal vid:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tDYnzKtE2c
The knuckles, CVs, and bearings are new territory for me, though. I found this vid for the CVs:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BawuxQHhTGs
and this one for the bearings:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVuM8iVO6u8
Aside from the parts listed above, am I missing anything? I'd like to get this all done in a long weekend, so I want to make sure I have all the required parts. I'm not trying to tear half of it apart to find out I need to order something extra with a week long lead time.
Also, looking for opinions....am I doing too much? Not enough?

I won't comment on anything but the bearings assemblies I'll let others with more knowledge on the other listed parts or missing parts comment, but the bearings you have listed are just the bearings and not the hubs, seals , O-ring, new hub bolts, etc, those bearings are not simply just bolt on parts, you will have to have your old hubs pressed out and then pressed into the new bearings, and to do that you will need a 20 ton press with the correct adapter plates for the press and the other parts and the know how to press them on correctly.
You would be much better off getting the complete assembly with new hubs, etc. which will be a simple remove and replace job by unbolting the old assembly and bolting on the new ones, and I don't think Toyota sells them already assembled so even if you get all Toyota parts they will still need to be assembled, you can get them from Blue Pit Bearings or Napa sells an assembly that they have a limited lifetime warranty on, all others assemblies even OEM only offer a 1 year/12,000 miles warranty.

Awesome, thanks the kind of information I'm looking for. Out of curiosity, do you have a part number or link to the Napa part? I can't seem to track down the whole assembly you're talking about.

Here's the link to the "NAPA Solution" complete bearing assembly for your year and model T4R, there's a link on that page for the warranty information as well, click on it to read about the "Limited Lifetime Warranty".
https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NDP7...=wheel+bearing
Also here's a link to the Blue Pit bearing assembly in case you decide to go with them, they're high OEM quality assemblies but as mentioned only have a 1 year warranty, but they have to be shipped to you but they have free shipping.

You can order wheel bearing assemblies for 155 from Marion bumper 2 bumper auto. Just got some about 3 months ago and he offers OEM hub/bearing assemblies. Sometimes the shipping takes a while from him, but it's a very good quality product.

Yes Marion Bumper 2 Bumper does sell a good product, OEM bearings and he also offers a better warranty than most...24months/24,000 miles warranty, how he handles that warranty I don't know..but you would still have to wait for him to assemble them and ship, some have waited much longer than should be necessary IMHO and I have read that communication from him is not the best but you will get them at some point.
Here's a link to his website and you can try contacting him and then decide for yourself.

Whoever you decide to get the bearings from be sure to use loctite on the bolts when you install them.

OK I guess I should have included all of these bearings assemblies suppliers in my first post instead of my own preferences so anyone can decide who to purchased from, I just like the warranty on the NAPA assemblies and the fact that I can get them or return them if necessary just down the road so to speak instead of shipping them back and dealing with unclear and lesser warranties.
But yes Jersey Built Hubs is another place to get a quality bearing assembly, he sells a good product but does this as a sideline to his normal job, he builds them to order, so you have to order them and then he when he has time he will build them and then ship, some have reported the communication is said to be not the best but in the end everyone at some point gets their orders.
He also offers a 12 month/12,000 warranty on the "parts" he assembles but also it states that the assemblies are returnable if they haven't been bolted on the vehicle, so I'm not sure what that means if you have a issue with them less than 12 months after getting them.
I do like that he has a How-to link posted on his website showing more or less how to remove and install the assemblies.
Here's a link to his website.

That's great stuff, guys - thanks. Plenty of options to choose from there. I'll make sure to use Loctite!
Does anyone know if I'm missing anything between the steering knuckle and the CV axle? Specifically, I'm not sure if I need part number 90316-A0001 (Oil Seal) or if that already comes on the knuckle or CV assembly. Here's the part I'm talking about :

Yes you should replace that seal and I don't know if it comes with the knuckle but I doubt it does, if you don't and it fails later it could lead to premature wheel bearing failure, if you look at the How-to I mentioned on JerseyHubs website he does show replacing that seal.
Also get the seals in the front diff where the CVs goes into it

That seal typically comes with the CV axle, and it looks more like a dust shield than an oil seal. Be sure to put a new O-ring between the wheel bearing assembly and the knuckle, too.

Monkey Wrench - are you saying the seal between the diff and CV axle is included in the axle assembly, or the one between the CV and knuckle? Any chance the seal between the knuckle and hub is included in either of those two?

The seal between the CV and knuckle is SOMETIMES included with the CV axle, and some wheel bearing assemblies offer it as an "add on". The seals between the CV and front diff are sold separately. Get those from Toyota and they are easy to replace- I used a socket (same outer diameter as the seal) to install one, and then a piece of PVC pipe to install the other seal.
