Anyone done a "Bandit" look for their black Sport Edition?
I've got a black Gen4 4Runner Limited, not Sport Edition, but it's got the 4.7L V8. I know it's not a sports car, but I got this kooky idea in my head of putting a big gold flaming chicken on the hood. I haven't found anyone else on the Internet who has done this yet, so I may be the inventor of the idea.
As I'm sure you all are aware, adding those Firebird decals should add about 40 horsepower to the vehicle. Adding 6-lug honeycomb wheels (if they even exist) should add another 30.
While I don't have T-Tops, I do have a sunroof.
What do you all think? Anyone ever heard of this being done before? Would anyone here be willing to do it to theirs? Does anyone think it's a good idea?

while im probably THE biggest pontiac firebird trans am guy on this forum, & i do love the t/a hood birds & decals, i do not think it would be a good idea to put a hoodbird or other trans am decals on a 4runner. ive seen guys in my town do the trans am look on a few other vehicles & it just looks tacky IMO.
there was a early 90's blazer running around town with a shaker scoop in the hood, t/a fender vents in the fenders & a bunch of bird decals all over it... it was "neat" for a couple seconds when i first saw it, but then the agony of what i was looking at set in, it screamed redneck backwoods bubba mod!
burt would not approve!

How about the "screaming chicken" from a 1st-gen MR2?
You could do a theme based on the John Player livery since it's also black and gold Everything John Player touches turns to Black Gold

The path is obvious here, make space for two crazy chicken decals and rock 80 new hp. That and the wheels will put you at what, 110?
You're welcome.

It would be interesting to see but not sure how good it would look until it's on. I recall some 70's Jeeps having hood decals, golden eagle maybe. As for HP, I think it may detract as the original bandit car was pretty anemic.

Not sure why you would put such an iconic design from Pontiac on a TOYota.

Honestly, just because my first car was a Trans Am, and despite its lack of quality and power, I loved that thing. Not that I want another, but there's a big black hood there that could probably hold one of those Firebird decals, and those pillars between the rear windows and the cargo area side windows look perfect for the smaller Firebird decals. It just got me thinking about it and wondering if anyone else had done it.
Which leads me back to my original question...has anyone else done it? I can't find any evidence that anyone else has done it.
As far as anemic, I'm not exactly blown away by the 4.7L V8 in the 4Runner. I used to have a 5.7L Tundra, and let me tell you what...push that Tow/Haul button and just lightly tap that gas pedal and feel your head get thrown back. Can't find a Tow/Haul button on my 4Runner, but so far no matter how hard I push that gas pedal, it doesn't throw my head back. So it feels about like I remember my '79 Trans Am with a 403 V8. Not as much power as I had hoped for in both cases, but the most I could get.

Might as well desecrate it with the Chevy bowtie too.

There is a reason you can't "find" said idea. Nobody has done it. Its probably one of those "nobody should do" things.
