Sherpa Equipment Company - 4th Gen

Located on the front range of Colorado, we are a couple of adventure-seeking, Toyota loving, videographers. On our travels, we needed a rack that would live up to the workload of our adventure video production. We were traveling with large amounts of equipment and camping gear but had very little place to store it. We found that the rack systems available on the market left us sacrificing either strength or modularity. We set out to combine all of the features we wanted into one rack system. We are now pushing to create new products that are both strong and affordable so you can worry less and explore more.

PRODUCTS

Princeton Rack System

Drawer Systems (Coming Soon)

WHAT SETS US APART

QUALITY MATERIALS
Our rack systems are made with aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel hardware, worrying about rust is a thing of the past. While our competitors are using thinner materials, we believe in keeping our side plates thick to prevent issues with bowing. Each rack side plate is cut from 1/4” 6061 to stand up to even the toughest loads.

MOUNTING
Our racks use a rubber spacer to form a seal between our rack and your roof. We believe you shouldn’t have to glob on silicone just to make sure you don’t end up with water in your roof. Mounting our racks requires zero modification to your vehicle.

HANDLES
Gaining access to the equipment on your roof can often be the most frustrating part of using a roof rack or basket. We build handles right into the side of our racks to eliminate the issue and give you quick access to your gear.

ADAPTABLE
Our crossbars are designed to move to accommodate whatever spacing necessary for mounting your equipment. It's never been easier to mount your tents, awnings, and more. Simply loosen a few of bolts and slide away.

Suggestion,

You should offer some rubber strips that can be inserted in the rails of the rack to prevent the rails from holding water when not in use. Or to fill in the rails around attachment point for gear.

I don't own one yet, but will be buying one when I'm ready to invest in a RTT.

Thanks!

This is a cool idea, we have heard this from a couple of people and may look into this as interest has continued to grow!

In love with my Sherpa Rack!

I’ve owned my Princeton rack now for almost 6 months. I love everything about it and have no complaints. Install is easy enough to do by yourself. It’s tough enough to walk on and hold whatever it is I throw at it. The T slot cross bars make mounting my gear quick and easy. I can’t tell you how nice it is to have all the extra room inside the cab now. With a wife and dog I need all the space I can get!

Aside from the rack being awesome. I’m also happy to support such a rad company like Sherpa. Their customer support is fantastic and they are always quick to respond to all my questions. They also strive to avoid lead times. I can’t believe how fast my rack arrived so fast! If you’re on the fence about what rack you should go with... you won’t be sorry going with Sherpa! 🙌🏼

A group buy is a great idea!

It appears I'll be able to lift my Tepui tent (hoist) while keeping it attached to 2 removable crossbars. My current setup requires me to remove the Yakima bars otherwise it's a pain to remove it when not camping.

There will definitely be group buys in the future. We are only willing to run them when production can allow our lead times to stay short so we can not say a projected date.

Yea, as far as tents go we use a hoist in our shop and keep the tent on two bars that live on the tent. Makes install and removal very easy. Usually, takes less than 5 minutes to take off or install a tent once it is all set up.

This is exactly how I plan to make my install and removal easier! I'm currently working on a hoist for my garage.

Initially I wanted the prinsu rack until I came across the ones you guys made for the 3rd gens. I'm guessing you guys changed your name since then. This is definitely on the list of things I want for my 4th gen though...

Glad to hear it, we went through a full rebrand in June to allow more growth in our company. Let us know if you ever have any questions.
