Left Side Wheels/Brakes/Axle Squeaking at <20mph
Hi everyone,
In April, I replaced a torn driver side front CV axle on my 2005 4Runner
One random day in June, I started driving my car and at low speeds, every time the wheel turned, it made a medium pitched squeak. I was worried something was wrong until it stopped. I chalked it up to some unlubricated or wet parts after a strong hail storm.
Recently in the past month, the squeaky noise has returned. It has returned more frequently but usually only after I brake in traffic or keep stopping at a red light.
I've noticed a couple things.
1.There is no squeak above 25 mph.
2. It only squeaks in Drive (not reverse).
3. It doesn't happen immediately after starting up. It takes about 15 minutes in traffic or stop/go to start up.
4. When I press the brake lightly, the squeak stops (if i press the brake in the middle of a squeak, it squeaks out a different sound.
Any idea on what it might be?
I'm bringing it to the dealership on Friday but would like to potentially be prepared so they don't gouge me.
Thank you!
