I need some help

I took my 05 4Runner 4.7 in to have the battery replaced, it was 4 years old and starting to turn over slowly. After sitting in the waiting room a few minutes, tech comes in to get my keys. Didn't think much of it at the time but said he needed them to save my presets. I go outside after a few minutes and he is tightening up the cables with the engine running. I get in and leave, everything seems fine. Next day , crank the car to go into town, and I have lost all power to the A/C, heat, blowers, the entire console below the radio is dead except the clock and airbag light. I believe he replaced the battery with the car running. I have checked all fuses, relays, replaced the A/C console with a good used one and it does the same, everything is dead. I have disconnected the battery for 30 minutes, removed the fuses from the EFI, and ETCS, Where do I go from here? Trying to stay out of the dealer. Everything i have read leads to a voltage spike, but no information on where to go from here. Battery shows 12.6 volts and 14.2 when running. No A/C, no heat, no blower, no remaining miles on tank of gas, no outdoor temp, entire display is dead except clock and passenger side airbag light. Anything else I can check? What do I replace next?

I can't imagine anyone replacing a battery on a running vehicle. I'm sure he was just doing a once-over after getting it running. With so many components not working, it has to be a fuse/relay.

Finally, guys, if your A/C ,heat, blowers, and console info goes out, replace the A/C amplifier. I had checked all fuses and relays, changed out A/C console and got nothing. Swapped out A/C amplifier with a salvage yard replacement and bingo, everything works. Stayed out of the dealer, who gave me a $1500.00 estimate, and repaired it for $154.00 and 2 hours of my time. Thanks to this forum and hours of reading post, it's done. Now my wife is happy and out of my truck. Thanks to all of you.

Could that have been purely coincidental that it happened the next day after being at the dealer, since it worked fine when you left? I also try to stay away from the dealer, or any workshop, if I think I can do the work myself. I saved $4000 by replacing my timing chain myself.

It was actually an Interstate Battery sales and installation shop. They have young guys doing the installs and installation is free or I would have done it myself. May have been a coincidence but I'm not sure. I will not have them install next time, it will be cash and carry. I'm retired from 33 years owning a motorcycle shop , so I am mechanically inclined. Just got lazy to let them install, lesson learned. YouTube video showed how the dash comes apart, watched a radio swap video, that's where the A/C amplifier is, directly below the radio.
