4th Gen 8" Front Diff Pinion Flange Torque

Anyone know if the front clamshells on the 4th gens have a crush sleeve or are shimmed on the pinion?
My dust shield behind the flange has gotten a little bent and is making some squeaking noises and Id like to replace it but pulling off flanges with crush sleeves always makes me nervous because Ive overtightened them before and the result wasnt good.
Id be really happy if it was shimmed and I could just torque it down. Ive done the whole "count the number of turns" method for crush sleeves but I dunno if its worth messing with it.

I'd bet they're a crush sleeve just like the rear.

youre probably right. I wonder if I can just cut it off without taking off the flange. Non of my jeeps had a pinion dust flange over the seal so maybe it wont be a bad thing
