Any writeup for replacing fuel injector o-rings
I've searched and can't find a thread on replacing 4th gen fuel injector o-rings. I'm pretty sure my rough idle and fuel smell is due to those going bad. Thanks.

It’s super easy. I’m mechanically inclined because I’ve worked electric/H/VAC since i was 11 with my dad.
No experience on cars besides this forum and youtube.
All you need is a socket set and I used a hex set with a socket driver. Only 3 bolts but idk how you’d do it without it. Access is limited and a normal Allen key won’t do.
Fuel injector work is super easy. Just removing bolts and taking things apart.
Keeping organized is harder than the job. 2 hours max and I was drinking and smoking. Haha
I replaced one of my injectors because of heavy idle. It seemed to work for a few weeks but the heavy idle is still there randomly. Cold. Never once it’s warm.
I’ve done compression tests. Pass.
Coolant pressure test- fail. No visible leak anywhere.
Coolant gas combustion test- PASS. What!?!?
I’ve cleaned Throttle body and MAF.
I ordered magnaflow exhaust, CSF radiator, new water pump and fan clutch, a/c condenser (only because it’s bent and will impede the new larger radiator. I’m guessing?) and Hayden trans cooler.
I’m going to throw all that in and pray for the best.

Make sure you lube the o-rings before you put things together. The last thing you want is a torn or punched o-ring after all that work.

V8 or V6? The V6 FSM on here has a section for Fuel Injector Assembly replacement. See the attachment.
For the V6, make sure you start by pulling the C/OPN relay in the engine bay, then run the engine until it runs out of fuel. This depressurizes the fuel system. Then disconnect the battery.
After that it's basically just pulling things off the top of the engine to get to the fuel rail. The FSM covers how to remove the fuel rail, but you don't need to do that. Just unbolt the injectors and replace the o-rings.
Make sure you lube the new o-rings with gasoline before installing. And make sure the injectors are properly seated while installing and tightening the bolts.
It's not a difficult job, just takes some time to get to them.

Just throwing in my .02, but if you are going thru the trouble of removing the fuel rail to replace orings, replace the injectors too, and the fuel pressure regulator. They are all part of the fuel rail, and it would be incredibly frustrating to have it in your hand, put it back in, and need to replace it in a couple months or less. Handle it once.

I used those, the Denso remans work great. Again, the fuel rail has all 6, so it makes sense to replace all of them since you have it apart.
