Bilsteins Shocks - Replacement for X Reas

Replaced my x reas suspension late last year as the rear had started to leak and the cost of replacement was expensive. The Bilstein's have proved to me at least - excellent. Sure the ride is more firm but I like it. Took my 2003 V8 Ltd up to Alaska and then into the Yukon and back to BC in late May this year. Not a single problem - apart from a broken windshield picked up on the Dempster Highway. Tried to get to Tuc but the two ferries opened then closed due to ice flows. Will try again next year.
It is still a magnificent truck. 240, 000 km on the clock and I'll run it until the wheels fall off - then buy a new set.
Best truck that I have ever owned by far.
Yep Bilsteins had been a very good investment

Yep, I have an '03 V8 Ltd. and replaced xreas with 4600 Bils and FJ springs couple years ago. Very satisfied, but would opt for the Eibach shocks if doing over.

I have been torn between the Eibach Pro springs and shocks and the 5100's with Toytec springs...can I ask is there any particular reason you lean towards the Eibachs now?

Just from what I read on here about the Eibach's and their better feel on road, I'm strictly on road so a little more compliance over sharp bumps and RR tracks would be welcome.

I swapped out my xreas with 102,000 miles on my 04 v8 4x4 last week with the eibach pro lift and have no complaints so far. After settling I ended up with 2.25" lift in front and 1" in the rear. I am swaping to wildpeadk at3w today.

Another +1 for Eibach. They’re basically copies of 5100s made of better quality material right here in Southern California.

Went to Eibach's site just to check out their gear and found they have some 4th Gen front shocks on closeout for $63 shipped.

From what Ryan explained, they have a couple strategically located bleed holes so that the digressive valving does not beat you up at slow shaft speeds.

Eibach also has shocks for the 05-15 Tacoma on sale as well Front ($63) and Rear ($49)

I'm not sure what the difference is between the 4Runner and tacoma shocks are but for ~$225 you can have all 4 corners replaced.

Those are just the Pro Truck shocks. Meant for stock suspension no lift. You will probably want to get the Pro Truck Sport shocks. Those are meant for lift. They are like the 5100s but supposedly better. I have these with the OME springs waiting to be installed

Thanks, I’m not in the market for shocks, just posted that as a PSA for anyone needing some.

I recently got rid of my xreas and installed 5100's and the 885-895 springs on my 2006 v6 4Runner.

on the road, they are amazing, i was going thru some twisties today and it felt a little like a sports car. didn't lean as much and hugged the corners. But a complaint that i have is that they are pretty dang stiff when going off roading at slow speeds.
I will have my tires aired down to 15psi over some fire trails and its still pretty bumpy. Not sure if thats my shocks or the springs since i heard the OME are pretty stiff.
