2006 4runner not turning on
This issue started about 5 years ago but let me give you background on the vehicle:
When car was purchased in 2006 an anti theft product was installed by the dealership that kills the starter 30 seconds after you unlock the vehicle, and if you sit in the car for 30 seconds you just have to press unlock to reset the clock and the car turns on.
issue started 5 years ago as from time to time when turning the key the car would not turn on. The car would come on when I hold the key at on position for a period of 30 seconds to 1 min or turning it many times, pushing unlock and turning the key (Frustrating).
I have changed the starter twice
I have changed the ignition key
I have changed the Ignition and starter relay
as of July 10th the car never turned on
I had an old alarm system which I fully removed (no wires were ever cut)
The vehicle has been sitting in the dealership since July 12 and they said it was my ECU ($1200 part) I said I doubt it but now September 24th I got a phone call saying they have put in a new computer and they still can't get the car to turn on.
A while back a technician told me that a bad locking actuator could cause this issue and not allow the car to turn on.
PLEASE HELP, anything will help at this point. There is nothing else wrong with the car, all fuses have been checked.
