ok thai...whatever you say. Just be glad i didnt write a summary tearing you a new one. Just make sure you keep your comments to the internet and not out in public. If i would have overheard you comment high school drop outs and installers it would have been interesting.

As for me...UCLA grad. My younger brother, high school drop out with a GED and one of the top audio installers in southern california who happens to make more money than most IT professionals i know.

Hmm, this sounds like a challenge! And a threat! :rolleye2: Feel free to PM me anytime...i would be more than happy to call you out!

Hopefully, you got your little brother to install that painted cladding on your 4runner! Oh wait, there's that Appearance Package you missed out on! What was it that you said to me?? Only high school dropout will not do their research...or something like that.

Thanks.

P.S.: at least now we know that you're biased in your answer in this thread because of your compassion for your little brother, which is very sweet!

I am in the same situation. You can play DVD's using their DVD Changer which goes in the glove box. And I tried as well to see if I could get the NAV DVD to play a DVD movie with no luck. I have not seen anything available after market that will connect to the JBL system that will allow you to access the DVD.

I am still looking for options as well because I do not want to spend 800 bucks for the factory changer.

exactly. i still though can't even find the factory or OEM CD/CVD changer. do you know if it even exists in the US or if it's available? do you know what the part number is? I have a contact who may be able to get it for me at cost if i can find it. i'd be more than happy to get you one if we can get a part number on it. all i've been able to find so far is just a regular 6 disc cd changer not one that plays dvds. thanks

hey, if it's easier for you email me directly at [email protected]

I know that Lexus LX470 can play DVD movies on NAV screen from their DVD/CD changer in the center console/armrest. You put the DVD movie into slot #1 (ONLY slot #1) to play it...but you must have your handbrake engaged. Basically, you cannot play the DVD movie if the car is moving. Some people have found a way to bypass this safety feature.

So, try Lexus dealership...and ask for the CD/DVD changer on the LX470 or GX470.

Click the thread below for more discussion on this:

Thanks.

I know they just started coming in the US with the entertainment option. I would be expecting the DVD units to be here available to us soon. I am trying to get some information from my dealer, so hopefully they will give me some part numbers, but I think they are kinda out on left field when it comes new parts.

I really want to stay with the factory because it is all intergrated. Let me see what I can find out.

Exactly, me too, i really wanted to stay with the factory parts and system. Please let me know if you find anything out. I'm more than happy to try and get you the same discount my friend will get me on the OEM part once we find it.

Yea the NAV is definitely awesome. I'm glad I got it. though i had to wait a few months for them to get it the way i wanted it, it was well worth it. I love it! Definitely keep in touch and keep me posted on the DVD situation. I'm going to check out the Lexus parts to see if they'll fit. If so I'll try and get my friend to order it for me.
