ET Lugs Needed for Spidertrax 1.25” Spacers?

Can anyone let me know if ET lugs are needed to use wheel spacers? On my 3rd Gen, the front studs were not long enough.

I want to make sure they have enough to grab onto with my 2008 Limited.

Thanks

I got 1.25in spacers from rdcobra91 on eBay. They came with ET lugs and I definetly needed them.

The stock front lugs are shorter than the rear lugs. They wouldn’t hurt in either application.

The problem with ET lugs is if your brake rotor is thicker than “stock” or the rotor is not perfectly centered around the lug holes and the ET part of the nut hits the rotor. You torque it down but your really torquing against the rotor. We are talking millimeters of clearance here.

I tried ET on mine and dumped them because of this problem. Been about 10,000 miles with no issues without using the ET nuts.

I will say the lug that is not covered by the nut (in between the spacer and the rotor) will be exposed to the elements so when you remove your spacers (regular service interval).

Inspect that area and make sure it’s not being eaten alive by rust. You may even want to coat this 1/4 inch of open lug with grease or anti-seize as a precaution.

The 2001 only had shorter studs on the front. For me, the test will be if the lug nuts when tight are not at least flush with the top of the stud. I got ET lug nuts just in case.
