Cobra Daytona Seat

heres a sneak peak of what i got going on right now.. i left home this morning planning on buying two cobra lemans seats for my 4runner, i had decided on the lemans after trying all of them.. the cobra daytona, cobra lemans.. i initially did not like the daytona only because it had the pointed corners on the upper back rest.. but it was not bad at all.. so the daytona and lemans are same bottom and back rest except for the upper half.. so for bout an hour i played musical chairs between the daytona and lemans.. and the lemans was very comfortable .. the lemans on display was cloth and the daytona was in black leather.. anyway the daytona just felt better, felt like i was in the seat more the lemans made me feel like i was kinda stickin out of the seat and not much upper back rest..
the daytona just felt good in the leather also..
so the owner explained somthin to me that made sense.
the daytona with the wider upper sides gives you somthin to push off of while driving and turning which takes the pressure off the lower middle back. the daytona just feels like you can really lay back into the seat and be held in one spot... so this totally sounded like the reason why the stock seat is so unsupportive in the upper back.. so i was originally gonna go with lemans because it looked more stock and was comfortable.. but finally i said, you know what i want to be comfortable .. im getting the black leather daytona, it just feels better with more suppor in the upper back... it holds you up..and the thigh support is reall good, anyway the price for the daytona in leather is 1000.. and the lemans is 550 for cloth.. so then i borrowed his measuring tape and measured the seat and the space in the 4runner.. i think it will fit fine... it may have to be pushed against the center console a bit but it is flexible on the sides.... so finally i decide just in case im just gonna get 1 just to make sure it fits and works out good...

i figure i could just get one now make sure it fits good and i like it and then maybe get the passenger.. cause the guy says he needs my truck for 2 days to both sides.. so the passenger will be same opposite of the driver side.. so ill have him make both sides mounts with the same 1 seat... i went to his shop and he showed me how they are made, they look solid and are height adjustible 3 different heights on each front and back...
this guy had the recaros at his shop.. and they do have the slide out in front part on the seat like a bmw and but the thigh support was kinda low.. plus the cloth was ugly and they cost 300 more..
so i was not impressed with the recaro at all after trying the cobras again right after..

so once this guy does mine, he will have the measurements to make others if you guys wanna get a set.. i think hes gonna charge me like 250 per side..

oh another thing that i didnt look at was the seatbelt. i thought it mounted to the floor but no, it mounts to the seat frame.. but the guy makes the seat frame with one to tie the seatbelt to..

so.... i measured the sides and bottom distances and it looks like it should fit..

so finally i make up my mind to go back in there and buy 1 daytona seat in black leather expecting to spend 1000 for the seat and i think the rails are 60 bucks..
but then the owner tells me the black leather takes 2 weeks.. im like aw crap i already have appt with the mount guy on thursday ... then he tells me he has the daytona in black cloth in stock and i can always bring it back to get it done in leather.. he says they use katskin and its 450 to change to leather .. and there are color options..
so the black cloth daytona is only 599 and i can always do the leather later on..
so yep i just got one seat for now and cant wait to get it in next week.. if you guys wanna know .. i got the seats from sube sports in huntington beach and the floor mount guy is wendel at Wedge engineering in long beach... check out there websites..

so here are some teaser pics till probally friday or sat ill post the install pics and let ya know how it will work out..

so if ya think your steering wheel is too far away, well its not, its your seat that make you feel like that
and if ya think you can modify your stock seat, dont bother, trust me..save the money for a cobra seat

looks a little different but ... its comfortable

here are the rails

heres a link to sube site you can see all the different seats
http://subesports.com
or the bracket guy has the recaros,,
http://www.wedgeengineering.net/

you can get any seat you want.. i tried the sparcos.. they are hard man.. those are cheaper end but still good.. anything but stock i tell ya

other seats that i like are the corbeau LG1 or 2 which is larger size but worried bout fitting in truck. couldnt find anyone who had one on display to try er on..
the recaro i liked was the specialist.. the recaros have some high end ones that cost 2600 for all the adjustments but too much for me.. i think the cheapest ones are 1000 for cloth
but i tell ya any of these are better than stock seats..

heres my arm rest mod that came out good, its higher and the balls are there to fix the speaker vibration in my door.. im gonna have somthing made to make the center arm rest higher to match the new door armrest.. stay tuned on that....

got the 1.25 spidertrax spacers drove to santa barbara few weeks back no problem ..

got a brake job coming up in couple weeks just waiting for pads and shimkit from partznet. adding Irotors which are slotted and drilled with OEM pads.. should be good improvement stockers are crooked...

the spacers look great! I'd really like to get those! What headlights do you have? did you black out the grill emblem?

ya the spidertraxx spacers are better than the marlin crawler because they have the center rib thingy to hold the tire exactly in the center.. i actually got the marlins first but the front wheels would vibrate or shake a little at around 60 mpg so i got the spidertrax, they are .25 smaller but alot less shaking.. it only does it sometimes, i think it is the tires, but for running round town i like em, if new tires dont fix the vibration then i may remove them..

the headlights are depos that i got from burtman industries..
ya sanded and painted the front emblem..

so i dropped off my truck in long beach today to get the seat frame made .. i should have it back friday..

are all the spidertrax spacers blue?
did you have any difficulty re-aiming the new headlights?
