Went ahead with the transmission fluid change today. Fairly straight forward and easy as pie to do. I did a few things differently but I think it just sped up the process.
This nifty thing helped a ton. It's a transmission funnel according to autozone but it screws on the bottle and has an on/off switch as well.
Kinda felt like I was in an ER but the fluid flowed fairly quickly and extremely cleanly.
All patched up and done. I included a picture of the aftermath.
Had a dragging caliper a few weeks ago. It also let me know the rubber hoses are bad. They're all going away and getting replaced with braided steel lines. Might as well do a fluid flush at the same time since I have to crack the system anyway.
The pins took some work to clean up but they're good to roll again with tons of lube.
Spring is here again. This year for the winter months I used cosmoline instead of fluid film. I think the cosmoline did a better job. I have some paint and stuff to do on the armor due to rock chips but so far all my bolts came out easily and that's a good sign in Michigan.
Meet the new toy tool. I've been doing some photography lately and I've added a drone to the mix. I'll be testing for the FAA here soon but it's a good tool for photography.
What's in the mail:
Silicone vacuum lines (I inspected and found a few were looking old so I'm going to nip that nightmare in the bud)
Front brakes/rotors
Hubs and bearings from bluepit
Some new splash guards from ark.
Also need to do a power steering flush here soon.
I'm working on the headlights again. Mostly sealing work but the quads have performed beautifully and they look fantastic.
I might need to just bite the bullet on a new grille. Mine has been repaired too many times.
